I am a beginning dancer about to start a musical theatre conservatory. I needed a pair of character shoes to wear for shows and dance class. I have previously only worn character shoes without elastic, like the Capezio Manhattans. I wasn’t a big fan of those because they felt slippery and clunky.I was a little scared to purchase these because some reviewers said they felt unsafe and unstable and didn't recommend them for those who are not advanced dancers. However, I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived, as they don’t feel unstable at all IMO. I immediately ran around my house in them and felt secure the whole time. I also really like the suede bottoms.I wear a street shoe size 7.5 and have a normal width foot with a narrow heel. I ordered an 8, which fits well. The only thing I don’t like is that the ankle strap is comically long. I have to tighten it to the tightest hole to fit my ankles, but then the strap sticks way out and looks a little ridiculous. I’m considering cutting it off but I don’t want to ruin the shoes. Decisions, decisions.

Oh my gosh, these shoes are AMAZING! Coming from someone who wears capezio normally and bought these for a ballroom dance class, they are so comfortable and fit perfectly. I went up half a size like they said to and they fit better than any of my capezios ever have. Gorgeous shoes and I can’t wait to wear them in my class! Completely worth the money, I’ll definitely be buying again.Edit: I still love these shoes but I wish they had more holes for the buckle. Also, the shoes aren’t exactly like the image (black insides instead of the tan parts) so keep that in mind. If you aren’t experienced on heels or don’t put pressure on the balls of your feet when dancing, you may loose your balance due to the little surface area of the heel bottom compared to shoes like capezios!

I found this shoe very comfortable and enjoyable. The insole of the shoe is a very nice and comfortable material and made for less sore feet. The shoe is very flexible, and I read some reviews saying that it's like a poor man's LaDuca and I would have to agree. I put on my LaDuca's after I tried these on for comparison, and this shoe definitely has a similar feel. Overall it's a nice shoe, the only problem i had was that the holes made to put the buckle through were way to small to easily fit the buckle through it. I had to take a couple minutes and try really hard to push the buckle through the hole before it actually fit in finally. But I'm happy I decided on this character shoe!

These shoes are so comfortable. I really did not expect that. I have terrible feet, very large very flat and could never find character shoes that didn't leave my feet bruised and feeling broken. I can not only use these for rehearsal but also on the rare occasion when I have to use my own shoes for a show. They are very good and though the strap seems flimsy it will not break. I had a little problem with the back scraping against my back ankle but I fixed that. Would buy these again.

Shoe is lovely and so flexible (see pics). Good for theatre or dance. If you are a dancer, this shoe will allow you to show off your foot stretch and articulation. Nice elastic patch on both inside and outside of arch.However-so small both on width and length. I wear a 7, ordered a 7.5, and now ordering an 8.5.I cannot even stand comfortably much less move in the 7.5.I hope the 8.5 works or I’ll have to shop elsewhere for wide.

I've been performing in Musical Theater shows professionally for 10 years, and this is my favorite shoe to wear. I do purchase my regular street shoe size in this shoe, even though many people recommend purchasing a half to a whole size larger. I originally purchased a half size larger, broke the shoe in, and now it has stretched to the point that I almost cannot wear them anymore. This is a fantastic shoe that works well for musicals, nights out dancing, or for a costume shoe. The split sole allows your foot and ankle total movement and control, the heel is the right height, and the strap is easily adjusted for fast costume/shoe changes. The nude is the only color I have used thus far, and the only problem I have is if the stage is painted black, it might come off on your shoe, depending on your movement. This is a more expensive character shoe, but I call it the poor man's LaDuca (a split sole character heel that costs upwards of $200). Great buy! If you dance, this is your shoe - and I have a wide foot for a dancer.

I purchased these shoes in a size 8 for my schools production of A Chorus Line, and honestly I wanted to BURN them afterwords. The fit was fine, however the quality of the shoe is atrocious. Within 24 hours of owning them the black paint started to chip away to show the obvious brown underneath. The buckle also scrapes off the black paint on the strap. The heel was shorter than 2 and 1/2 inches. Here's are the major problems though:I rolled both of my ankles in them because they were so unstable. And believe me I have strong ankles, so it was a shock and quite frankly terrifying since I had to continue wearing them for the run of the show. Then during one of the matinees, the ankle strap just snapped off entirely. Luckily, I was backstage when it happened, but if it happened while I was onstage I could have hurt myself. The only thing good I have to say about this shoe is that it makes your point look pretty good because of the flexible soles. But no where near worth it enough for the price and the quality. This makes me never want to buy a BLOCH shoe of any kind ever again.

Work well! Stretchy straps. No damage after a month long musical run.

They’re perfect! I I wear a size 8 US street shoe. But I’ve been a dancer all my life and now my feet require a wider shoe, so I ordered a half size up and they fit beautifully. I was concerned about the suede Sol on stage but they are not slippery at all. Very fine product.

CONSTRUCTION: Beautifully crafted shoes. As a drag performer I was looking for dance shoes that would provide support and withstand the weight of a man on OCCASIONAL use (i.e., I don't intend to dance in heels 3+ hours/day, 5 days a week). I wore these around the house to break them in, and I am confident they will more than do the job!FIT/SIZING: True to size. My feet are 10 1/2" long and are medium in width. Naturally I would take to a women's size 11 (although I could fit in 10s, as well, if I am sacrificing comfort for style and availability). For online purchases I highly recommend measuring your feet in inches/CMs and getting the next size UP that is appropriate for your bigger foot's measurement. This specific style FITS LIKE A GLOVE which is exactly what I want. (I do not like the feeling of "extra wiggle room" in my shoes when I'm doing high kicks and splits.)STYLE: I thought I wasn't going to like the T-strap, BUT I ended up LOVING it because it provides that extra security that I want. The split sole also allows me to comfortably do my toe points. It does not have any decorative top-stitching or cut-outs which makes it versatile for a wide range of stage use (e.g., ballroom, Broadway, show choir).PACKAGING: I appreciate that the shoes come with plastic forms, so they maintain their shape with storage and travel. They also come with a travel bag!

I purchased a number of these shoes for a stage production and had to send them back because the sizes wouldn't fit any of my dancers, even when we went up two sizes they still wouldn't fit. I won't be buying these again.

Love these shoes! Bought them for musicals and they are super comfortable. And they are also on the more stylish side of character shoes. Very true to size, I am a 8.5 street shoe and ordered a 8.5. They are a tad snug but I'd rather them be tight than loose!
