These electrodes contain 2% of cerium oxide which gives them the following attributes: increased ease of starting, improved arc stability, and reduced rate of vaporization or burn-off. Cerium is non-radioactive.

These tungstens provide a super stable arc. They ball up perfectly and surprisingly reject contamination compared to the rest. For example a small dip in your material may give you discolor on your work but they often return to use without a resharpening. The others that I have used are toast after a small dip and remain contaminated until sharpening. I will not buy anything else moving forward. I thought they were all the same. Great product.

I switched to these rods while welding cracks on an aluminum fender. These rods made a smoother puddle and finish.

These ciriated tungsten Electrodes work amazingly well with 1/16'' to 1/4'' mild steel. Great for practice welding or for really thin steel welding.

Tungstens are sometimes like a crap shoot. Even when you are purchasing from a known good source sometimes you get a bad one that splits throughout. The first set i ordered never made it, they punched through the tube they were shipped in and were lost. Amazon promptly remedied the situation, thank you amazon. Finally they arrived, were properly cleaned of their paint and sharpened. They had two different colors paint on them, disturbing to me. as i cleaned them i found different colors / layers. So i used them as normal and had difficulty with maintaining the ends on them and one kept splitting, so i sharpened the other end.It quit splitting. Running only 130 - 150 amps the ends were deteriorating every 5 - 10 minutes. I switched to a different electrode with better luck. With the amperage turned up to 200, they couldn't handle the pressure and left bits of tungsten in the work piece repeatedly. I didn't have an entire box to work with, only three. But i wouldn't have used more then three. I think they could have been old / moisture contaminated possibly. I dunno. They definitely don't handle the heat. I've had 3/32" tungstens doing more work than the 5/32" with far less issues.
