B&M 80277 Universal Remote Transmission Filter Kit

Great stuff, thanks to others I knew to buy hoses for it other, than that great product, the in and out should be easy to figure out, but if u can't the out is where when the filter is on it the oil has to go out the center of the filter, so the one that is right above it!So far its helping great my shifts seem smoother and just over all good to have.It was a little hard for me to find a spot on my car to mount it because it is kinda big for a little sports car like 2000 toyota celica GtSo my continued update have driven around 2k miles with it on and the shifts have defiantly smoothed out! I couldnt be happier with this purchase! Plus there are tons of filters that will fit the threading and its a great build thanks a ton!

This unit does what it is made for, though mine came to me with 1/2 inch pipe fittings instead of the smaller ones shown in the advertising. The larger fittings required assembly before mounting and were in the way of using sockets so I had to wrench the mounting bolts in a quarter turn at a time. Mounting was chore but it isn't something I need to do again now that it is in place.I removed the BM sticker to reveal the filter number for replacements, it uses a Purolator V1A filter.I mounted this unit low on the frame, level with the trans lines, so the oil wasn't being pumped up hill.I also added a finned aluminum sleeve over the filter for extra cooling. These can be purchased at motorcycle shops and do an excellent job of additional cooling.

5 Stars because I found nothing wrong with it and it works as expected. As for the confusion about which port is inlet and which is outlet the instructions are very clear. The center hole with the pipe thread is the outlet. I installed this on my Jeep Cherokee with a new transmission oil cooler and am happy with their combined performance. Beware however, if you reverse the lines going into the filter, it won't flow ANY oil so be sure you know which transmission line to splice into before you start.

The product is what it is. It works.The difference for me between 2 to 4 stars was... would I buy it again? The answer is yes, so the 3 stars.Reasons for not getting 5 stars:American company should make their products in the USA (but I get the reasoning for being unable to do so).Mine came missing one threaded nipple--if I was planning to use this as-is, I would not have been able to.Instructions are not good (good thing this doesn't require detailed instructions).Overall design, fit, and finish of the product is cheap (but works without leaking).Reason for not getting 1 star:It does what it was intended to do.

DESTROYED MY TRANSMSSION and received nothing but APATHY & ARROGANCE from their “customer service” department. I have a 2004 Nissan Xterra that had ZERO transmission issues. I had the Supercooler and filter installed by a professional mechanic in preparation for a cross-country trip where I would be towing a trailer. The very next day, my transmission seized and required a complete rebuild to the tune of $2000. The mechanic, who has 30 years of expertise with transmission work, diagnosed the problem as being the Supercooler and filter being faulty, impeding proper transmission fluid flow to the transmission, starving the system and causing destruction of the planetaries, clutches, etc. They showed me the parts after removal and they looked burnt. There was sufficient fluid volume and no other issues whatsoever. I contacted B&M seeking a refund for the cost of the parts and spoke to Lee who called me “bro” about 3 times per minute as I described my experience. His attitude from the get-go was apathy and arrogance and he even passive-aggressively questioned how the mechanic diagnosed their parts as the problem. He then asked for copies of my receipts - I sent them. He calls back just minutes later and says that he spoke to management and they said they are not responsible and won’t refund me the cost of the parts. This is ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. A 30-year transmission expert says their parts are faulty and both Lee and his management at B&M arrogantly argue that diagnosis without inspecting their parts to see if indeed they might have been faulty. Apparently their 1 year warranty is also a complete farce. Total scumbags. Stay far away from this joke of a company and their inept staff/management and inferior parts.

Put 17Kkm (10K miles ) on a 2000 ford explorer with 200k KM in one month. The hydraulic filter is better than B&M supplied oil filter with the kit. Simply added the cooler and filter in series after the factory aux cooler. Extra cooler / oil hose was needed. Easier installation with grill removed. Easy with internet reference. With cooler lines open, I had one line in empty oil jug (outflow) and one line drawing from gallon jug of new transmission fluid (inflow). Not quite a complete flush but a good transfusion. Many internet concerns about the transmission but this combination was well worth the afternoon to install.

It leaks... Used pipe tape but it still leaks and it is difficult to mount with the drill holes behing the fittings. Poor design.

I ordered this on Wednesday 12/16. The order said it would be 9-12 days, I should expect it on the 22nd. Much to my surprise it was on my doorstep 24 hours later!! The kit comes exactly as desribed, the filter is actually a Purolator with a B&M sticker. There is no hose included, but the clamps are. There are also no instructions included, but if you are ordering this, they must expect you have the know how to install it. Its been on for under 50 miles, and I dont know if its plecebo effect or what, but it seems to not slip as much between 1-2 and not at all between 2-3 or 3-4 now :)I must say so far - I couldent be happier

Self tapping screws for mounting won’t be used

Installed on Accord v6, Found a location that'll fit, behind front bumper left side, small void there with 2 holesin the right spot, almost like this was made for it !

Great product!Not so much into the self tapping mounting screws. Bolt ,lock washers and nuts. Maybe I'm just nuts? Lol.
