This is a great tool to hold Dixon railroad chalk. Of all the options on the market I like this one the best, I’ve chalked many roofs and have never broken this holder. Durable, mid range priced, and ergonomically appealing to the hand. I’ve retrofitted a wrist strap on mine for efficiency.

Now this is a great product. I drive a truck and have to chalk my trailer tires in winter to be sure they're turning and this let's me do it without getting chalk on hands or clothing

I bought this to work with railroad chalk to keep my hands cleaner and it says it works with railroad chalk, but does not the chalk falls out every time. Even with the tightening sleeve.

Inexpensive plastic. It does it's job. Adds a little comfort to using these fat chalks, and less likely to slip though my fingers or gloves. Not a necessity, but I recommend it - one for each color caulk you use. You don't want to waste time loading one if you go back and forth between light and dark chalks, say.

You have to be sure and put the narrow end of the chalk in the holder. It helps keep the chalk off your hands

I think I failed to see the specs. This holder is huge for sidewalk chalk for kids. It is not meant fot standard chalk.
