Ingredients
1 part each. Bonsai Block(1/4 inch ball clay), Monto Clay(1/4 inch montmorillonite clay), and Pine Coir(unscreened pine bark ranging from dust to 3/8ths inch). Zero additives or dyes.
Intended Use
Gritty mix is a good fit for the most of the 30 thousand species of succulents and cacti that exist. Gritty mix is not a good fit for standard houseplants, Thanksgiving cactus, Christmas cactus, Ponytail palm, snake plant and some vine type(string of xxx) succulents in most zones.
Instructions
Remove as much of the old potting soil without damaging the roots. Position the plant with one hand. Pour soil around and into the container to set it. Water well the first time then when completely dry. Slip-potting is acceptable if the old soil is also a gritty mix. Fines are important and should not be removed.
Features
Ultra-fast draining. Bag sizes range from 2 quarts to 24 gallons. Every batch is washed with several hundred gallons of water. Color may vary slightly due to natural variations.

It will give your plants a whole new aesthetic. It is a fast draining soil mix that your plants will love. I purchased Jack's Gritty Mix primarily for a lithops project. My lithops love Jack's Gritty Mix!After this purchase, I bought another 3 gallons of Jack's Gritty Mix directly from Bonsai Jack®. I highly recommend both Bonsai Jack® and Jack's Gritty Mix.!In the photos: Jack's is on the left and a bonsai gritty mix I also bought is on the right. The bonsai mix is slightly more "colorful", it has a larger grit size overall, and it is lacking the biomass nutrients that Jack's contains (pine coir).

It seems a good product, it's clean has all the good stuff in it. I'm only on my third bag, kinda hard to say if my succulents are crazy for it. At this point I like it, I like the packaging and I like the chop stick. Until one of my Jade plants complains I'll keep buying it. Speak of, I think it's a bit pricey but if it's gonna make my plant buddies happy it's worth it

I love this cactus mix. I grow a lot of aloes and I purchase this to mix with regular succulent soil. The water drains well and since I have started using this mix a couple of years ago, my aloes have flourished.

I mix this with sand and some soil. I just wish this wasn't so expensive. It helps IMMENSELY with my succulents so I don't over water them!

very good quality. Coarse stone. Well drainage. Look great with succulent. Just repot my succulents and it’s easy to reposition the plant. Very neat. Must purchase again I’m in love with this soil.

This soil is perfect for succulents and bonsai, great drainage, even mix of particulates, and easy to look at. Its unfortunately quite expensive (At the end of the day, its a bag of soil...). That said, I will either be purchasing this again in the future or trying my hand at making my own soil.

Excellent cacti and succulent potting mix. Drain well and definitely cannot overwater. A bit pricey, but worth every penny.

Only disappointment is that amazon only carries the smallest size. This product is amazing and I have reordered - and have used a total of 6 bags. Yes -it’s expensive - but so were my cacti. I look at it as protecting my investment in my plants. Very pleased to discover this unique soil. It promises and delivers!!!

I've become obsessed with succulents and cacti lately. I ordered a bag of this a while ago and replanted all my plants from the soil they came in from the garden center. They all seem to be doing very well. Super nice that it comes with pH testing strips and a metal chopstick to help clean off plant roots. Makes watering succulents a breeze.This was out of stock for a bit (which SUCKED) but now it's back and I ordered 2 more! Ordering directly from Bonsai Jack has insane shipping charges. Thanks Amazon.Update: Months later my succulents are still very happy and healthy with this potting soil.
