Team Bont is comprised of some of the best roller derby and park skaters in the world. Each of our skaters has years of skating under their belts and over that time they have all used a number of different wrist guard protectors. We asked all of our skaters around the world for input on what they liked and disliked from the protective pads and wrist guards they have used over the years and asked for their ideas on how we could make an even better protective wrist guard protector. We took all of the feedback and developed what we believe is the best wrist guard on the market. This project was headed up by Christine (Shorty) Murray who was one of the best roller derby jammers in the world and is now one of the best park skaters in the world so she has a great amount of knowledge of what it takes to make a great wrist guard protector.

HISTORY
Bont was founded in Sydney in 1975 when Inze Bont, a recreational speed skater decided to fiberglass the back of his leather speed skates to gain more support. Bont was the first footwear manufacturer to use exotic material like fiberglass in 1974, Kevlar in 1986 and Carbon Fiber in 1989, and the first to use heat moldable resins and thermoplastics. In the 1980's Bont dominated the quad racing scene with the lightest and strongest boots on the market thanks to our unique one-piece manufacturing technique. Bont was the first quad skate company to use lace covers, velcro, and aluminum strengtheners in the boots.

I got these for my longboarding hobby to stay safe, and these have felt very secure to me. I have nothing else to say honestly! They feel good enough, and I feel more confident knowing I have some wrist protection.

I like that you have to slip these wrist guards on like a glove and then strap them around the wrist. They have the plastic protection under the wrist as well as on top. They are well-constructed and give me peace of mind that I will have ample protection. Well-done, Bont!

My daughter is a creature of habit, to say she hates change is an understatement of biblical proportions. Having recently made her juniors travel team, and in anticipation of bigger play and bigger hits, we thought her wrist guards needed an upgrade. We settled on these as they have splints on both the top and bottom of the guard, this seems to be what orthopedic doctors recommend. She's been wearing them for a couple months now and recently told me, on her own accord how much she loves them. At some point we'll invest in Pro Designed Guards but until then, I think that everybody should have Bontwrist guards. They're very good for Christmas. I don't think a football's a very good Christmas present.

These seemed like they might be decent wrist protection from falls while rollerblading, but they put painful pressure on my ulna at my wrist even when they weren’t properly snug. It was unbearable when I tried to snug them up. They weren’t a great fit for my wrists overall too, so I returned them and went with a different style of wrist guards.

They do the job and fit pretty well. There is a grab cord on the wrist to help you pull them onto your hands. My only complaint is that they’re a little difficult to remove, especially if they’re damp from sweat. I recommend doing what I always do for my skate gear and hit them with the Lysol or equivalent regularly.

I wear a size small glove and these in the S fit perfect. Very supportive on both sides of the wrist, comfortable, light weight, come with a carrying case, and best of all only $10Hope to never “need†them, but I’ll definitely be wearing them when I rollerblade. 5 âï¸
