Hard to explain the quality of this item it’s amazing. The bag not so much, but the actual product itself is just amazing that they can sell it for this price.

This is supposed to be good for beginners but does not even show how a beginner is supposed to set this up or use it. I really wanted to get into book pressing for my own books but there is no clear guidance on how to do this. I searched online and got info for setup but not seeing anyone using it. So you really have to teach yourself.

First, I was impressed with how well the flower press was packaged! (It survived the delivery driver tossing it over my fence and it had no damage at all)! It was super easy to assemble and I appreciated that the kit included an extra piece of each hardware item. But most importantly, the pressed flowers turned out beautifully!

Gave this as a gift and it was a huge hit! Excellent buy and very high quality. You won’t be disappointed

The acrylic is too flimsy. I can tighten in the corners, but it bends/bows in the middle, and is therefore not pressing the center of the book.

This is a great acrylic press for bookmaking, flowing preservation, and a whole bunch more. It was very easy to assemble, and with the 4 posts, you get even pressure without worrying about the placement of the item(s) being pressed. The carrying case is made from a fabric that reminds me of thick felt, or something. The name of the fabric is on the tip of my tongue. I have had things made from this same material in the past, and although the actual fabric held up, the seams didn't and that is where they would always tear. The other thing is that the carrying bag has one big center pocket and no way to separate the parts from the clear acrylic plates. Since you have to put the hardware in rumbling around with the plates, the hardware is going to scratch the acrylic plates/platters up horribly and might even damage them. This is why I didn't give this product 5 stars. Three solid acrylic plates measuring 12-inches wide x 7 3/4-inches deep; one of them with recessed spaces to set the bolt heads into/through.This is a truly amazing and large press that will work for just about anything you need to press - you can certainly press more than flowers and books. I can see myself using it to be certain I have a strong adherence with my vinyl and foam projects too. And I'm sure I can think of other uses as I go along crafting. I also have two smaller presses that I'm going to pass on to friends since I have this one now, so this will save me a bit of space too.I find the carry bag to be very durable, being made of what feels like a thick pressed felt; think along the lines of a thinner - not super thin - moving blanket that a moving company would provide. The handles aren't especially impressive but should do the job as they seem sturdy and well attached. The carry bag's stitching is very good, the snap is a sturdy metal one, and the exterior flat pocket expands enough to hold all of the hardware separately from the acrylic sheets, though the hardware is heavy enough that the bag wants to tip and not stand up straight. I did add three sheets of thin cardboard into the main compartment of the bag; two between the acrylic plates to protect them and one between the side with the hardware pocket and the nearest acrylic sheet...in an abundance of caution and to keep my plates in excellent condition.I will say that I found the included directions a bit confusing at first as, to me, they seemed to instruct that the open recess spaces should face up...when in fact, they need to face down...unless I misunderstand how this works. I ended up with the recesses down and inserting the threaded ends of the bolts from the underneath of that acrylic sheet, which causes the bolt heads in the recess spaces to be flush with the bottom of that acrylic sheet, and then placing the flat washer and the hex nut on the top of that acrylic sheet, locking everything into place and creating a stable base.The largest bolt is 5 3/4-inches with the bolt head and just under 5 1/2-inches without the bolt head. All of the hardware is EXTREMELY durable and will last for many years. The press, itself, works well and smoothly, and it did a good job with the two projects I completed (one was pressed flowers, the other I added a leaf of pages to a journal and wanted to flatten them). I'm incredibly impressed by this flower and book press and highly recommend it.One thing I'll add is that I find it helpful to have a tiny level on hand when I'm pressing items, just to be sure I'm pressing everything to a level height; just a tiny one, like you'd use to hang a picture frame or find at the $ store.If you have a crafter on your Christmas gift list, this would make a wonderful present that I believe will be used again and again.

When I removed my tested item from the book press, I was disappointed to discover that my tested product wasn’t lying flat upon removal, as the 27-page pad of paper had been in the tightened-down press for nearly 2-months. Prior to putting the gummed-edge tear-away pad into the press the pages had been folded back onto themselves, creating a curled effect. Upon removal, the pad still curled and was not flat. The acrylic press is sturdy, well-made, and has metal hardware. An impressive fabric carry bag is included with this press. However, the snapped-top pocket located on the front of the bag is not expandable, making it a bit tight to access and fill the pocket. No instructions are included with this press. It is necessary to go online to confirm the correct assembly and usage.
