I don't know how Bosch manufacturing differs, but their drill bits and taps sure do offer superior performance for the home metal worker. This one was purchased for lamp making. A different thread can work well for threaded holes in wood when you want an adjustable jig.

Now, I just had one hole to tap, in aluminum. Which is a pretty easy job for any decent tap. So, I can't say how long it will last or how it would work in tougher material. But it did the job I bought it for, so I can't complain.

Does what it says on the tin, taps 1/8-NPT holes. The threaded holes make a good, tapered fit, unlike some alleged "NPT" taps. Great for tapping PVC for Rentacoop chicken water drinkers.
