They are recommended when there is sufficient room on a blind hole and tapping to the bottom of a hole is not critical. This tap worked great for my threading needs, that I threaded into some 1/4 inch steel plate, it works very well if you use some tapping and cutting oil.

Used for 2 or 3 projects. Works like a good tap should. Still sharp after 3 mild steel and two aluminum uses.

Have a 20 year old Craftsman set . Broke a tap and with Sears store long gone bought this Bosh as a replacement . So far so good . I’d buy agin .

Somehow my tap set was missing a 5/16-18 tap so this was a welcome addition. First went to a big box store but they didn't have this size.

I ordered two 5/16-18 taps. I received one 5/16-18 tap and one M10x1.50. Both were on cards that said 5/16-18, so the warehouse did their job--this one's on Bosch. Hopefully this isn't indicative of the quality of the taps.

I was sent Century taps, not Bosch. They work fine, but why misrepresent?
