Ordered one and the post was bent and missing one of the grommets. Sent it back and got a replacement and the second one was also poorly rebuilt and both post were lose and missing the grommets.

Generator came with one loose and bent post on it. Also when I unboxed it little paticales the size of sand came pouring out of the insides of it. They appear to be of a rubber compound. Well after installing the generator the generator light disappreared so it is working but the new generator was smoking profusly from the rubber sand shaped particales inside. I had to stop the car and check several times for fear of burning the car down. Finally started to get better after 40 miles of driving.I just don't feel very good about this generator lasting through the warranty period. As many of you know what a pain to change. I would prefer better quality one that would last for 5 years than one I have to change every year.

This generator is a quality Bosch part, that although made in Mexico, has a very nice build and appears to be operating just as well as my original German one. The only hiccup I ran into was getting the fan hub to slide onto the generator shaft, but after some greasing and tapping with a hammer, it'll slide on snugly.Rather than buy a marked up one on the big vw sites, buy it here on Amazon. It's $40 cheaper than wolfsburg & cip1. Plus the bonus of Prime shipping.

Worked great for 6 weeks, then suddenly it started sounding like a grinder - so I parked the car to take it apart later.Now that I have time to replace it - I find out that the warranty expired, just 2 weeks past coverage!Need to buy a new one now, again - just threw away some good money on this one.Not too happy.

Got tired of having a cheap rebuilt one from autozone and this thing fixed my idiot light. Stick with bosch for these kind of things!

Good quality generator and fast shipping. I keept the bushings from my original as they are wider and prevent fan rub. Polarized it and good to go!

Installed generator and assumed it worked. It would not charge and could not polarize it. Had to take the Ghia motor out once again. Not tested apparently. Did return and get my money back. What a pain. Must have got a bad one. JUNK.

It was missing the collar under the fan nut side but had the collar on the pulley side. I didn’t realize it and torqued the fan on then installed and it was locked solid. Maybe my fault for not checking/noticing but assumed it was ready to bolt on. Check yours before installing
