So far so good! I just used it today for the first time right at the printers. I had booklets that needed to be put together for mailing. The staples are right where they should be on the fold. It got the job done. Now I have to see how long it will last. It saved me money fromhaving them stapled by the print shop.

It blows me away how perfectly this stapler is designed and built. My first project was 5 sheets of 28 lb. letter-sized paper folded in half to make a 20-page booklet; adjust your expectations accordingly. I ordered the recommended staples but ended up using a cheap no-name product we had on hand because they were just a tad shorter and looked better. I had no mis-fires; my technique is to line up and give it a whack rather than a polite push. The gadget is well made. The metal is plenty strong - no sense of flimsy - and the stapler itself opens 180 degrees (and stays open) to fill. There are appropriate anti-slip pads where they need to be.Centering the staple exactly at the fold turned out to be fairly easy. The folded booklet nestles nicely on the ridge and comes close to no-brainer perfect alignment but if you want perfection spread your positioning hand over the booklet, pushing away from the ridge with fingers on one side, thumb on the other, and feel the booklet snug into place. If you're aligning your paper with the edge of the stand to place the staple a reasonable distance from the edge, you can also glance at the "peak" of your booklet relative to the peak of the stapler's ridge. If you don't do that you'll generally be dead on or within a staple-thickess off.A plus for storage between uses - it's more compact that it looked in the picture (and Amazon's stated product dimensions are often meaningless) - but it comes in a re-usable box that's about 5x5x12 or so.

Easy to use, does not come with staples, so make sure you order some separately. I found it easy enough to operate and insert the staples, its just a regular stapler on a different base. I was able to get the staples perfectly placed on the spine of the pamphlet after a few practice tries. It’s smaller than it looks online, the whole thing has a footprint smaller than a piece of printer paper. All in all a very useful item, I’ve been wanting one for ages and this fits the bill.

All the functionality of a long arm stapler and then some. With the saddle staple arrangement you don't have to worry about getting the staple just right - it's automatic. Solid steel construction, very well made, and surprisingly small size. If you believe in the philosophy "buy the best and you'll only cry once" buy this one. It's worth the price if you want to staple a lot of booklets.

Used this for sing-along lyric booklets and it worked great. Had a few “misfires” before I got the proper technique down, after that, smooth sailing, no jams. On the advice of another reviewer, I also got the Bostitch SBS1914CP staples to use with it. Did about 200 booklets with no issues.

The box this came in had previously been ripped open. Not sure if it was previously used or not. The seller did not specify new or used. However, it appears to work well. I do miss my old Swingline 615 which was a superior product.

I have nothing against long neck staplers, I have one of those too, but this beast is a game changer. Solid enough to use for home defense, it doesn't jump for skip when stapling booklets. If you line the bottom edges of a half page zine up with either edge of the stapler platform then you get perfect spacing for a two staple book. I have had no jams or issues stappling up to 10 sheet booklets (I don't usually make anything more than 10 sheets).

I had to make over 200 booklets with limited time and it was so much easier with this stapler. The angle and size are perfect and it is easy to line up the pages to one edge of the metal on one side staple and then slide it to line up with the opposite edge. It is heavy and does not jam up or move around. I feel this saved me lots of time and frustration. It arrived quickly and just in time to get everything prepared.

If your ambitions extend no further than A4 folded booklets with not too many pages, then this is a good stapler to use. It is well made, easy to operate and uses standard sized staples. It will probably not be good for larger publications that require more than 16-24 pages. I have used it for quarto booklets using folded A3 paper, folded down to A5 and it is definitely good for 16 pages using this method and adding another sheet is probably okay too. The staples go in cleanly along the fold, outside to inside and makes a very neat booklet. Having a guillotine to trim everything up afterwards is an advantage, but maybe not essential. Anyway, a good product and solid construction.

My first one was faulty. I was able to send it back post free; received a full refund and bought a second one, also from Amazon yet at a lower price and it works perfectly. In operation, fold booklets first, open them up and align edge of page with one side of base plate for first staple; slide paper across the base and align the other side of the booklet with opposite base edge for the second staple. This produces uniform appearance plus ideal location of staples.

I find this works so well for bifold booklet making! I have easily saved money from printing my own booklets on the first print job, as compared to sending out to a third party for printing. No jamming, very good quality.
