I bought this for a trip we were taking to the Gulf Coast. My wife isn't a sun worshiper like me, and has to be careful about sun exposure. The setup was as simple as the video demos made it look - took about 10 minutes to set up or take down. The "sandbags" built into the cover are genius - they really anchor it, even in pretty brisk wind. Also, everything also actually fits back in the bag when you're done!Speaking of which, there were a couple of days with sustained Gulf winds of 10+ mph with gusts that I'm sure hit 20 mph. We were concerned how it would hold up, but it did great - stretched & flapped a little due to the stretchy material, but that seems to be a feature to keep it from blowing away. After the first couple of days my wife declared it a "game changer" as she was able to stay out on the beach in comfortable shade no matter how long I wanted to stay out.(nb, don't forget to bring a bucket to scoop the sand with for the anchors - we used one from a Dollar Store kid's beach toy set)Bottom line: great product that performs as hoped for a good price.

We love how lightweight this tent is to travel with after using the traditional pop-up tents for years. Easy set up. Keys to success- Take a beach shovel to fully fill the sand pouches and then stretch the tent as much as possibleand you’re good to go! After a couple uses, one of the poles was stuck and would not break down. I reached out to the company and even though it had been almost 2 years since purchased, they sent me 2 upgraded replacement poles for free!! Outstanding customer service! Give this tent a try!

Don't waste your time. It was an absolute NIGHTMARE to put in the sand at the beach. The poles leaned and didn't want to hold up, even though the sandbags were filled to the brim. Maybe it's just Destin sand, but even though I scooped and scooped and tried to bury it deep enough, it wouldn't stay up. It took me 45 minutes with 3 small children to put this sucker up. I was so overstimulated and overwhelmed that I cried for a long while after getting it up. Once it was up, it was alright. It's small, so you can't stand underneath it. And there was no way 8 people were fitting underneath it. I'm out of the return window, or I'd return it. I'll have to use it again because I'm allergic to the sun, but I will be throwing it away as soon as our trip finishes. And I'm NOT looking forward to setting it up again... at all.TLDR: just get something else. Not worth it.

I bought this tent with one week until vacation. It came in on time. It comes in a back bag already packed and ready for the beach. Very handy. The actual tent material is very stretchy and the sun doesn’t get through. You can’t see the sun through the tent which is great for the sun protection. We had 9 people on this trip and the shade of this tent provided 11 people because our friends also came and used it. One of the best purchases I’ve made. I will say LOAD the bags with sand. Fill them to the brim with sand or whatever you are using and then cover them with sand/bury them. And then dig a little hole for the poles and cover them.. this allows them to be extra sturdy with the wind. At first I was hesitant with how it was going to hold with some of the reviews but it did amazing.

No matter what you do this will not stay up on a moderately windy beach day. Otherwise it's great. Easy to put up and down and ample, but filtered, shade. Space for at least 4 people comfortably

So glad I bought this! We used this on our beach trip a few weeks ago and it worked great. It took a little getting used to from a setup standpoint but by the end of the week we were experts. Sooooo easy to carry and easy to put up. My relatives who have a huge frame canopy tent were jealous of how simple it is and how sturdy. The key really is finding the direction of the wind, angling the poles a bit to balance again at the wind and filling the pockets with sand to overflowing and stretching further than you think you need to. With all that in place it worked perfectly and stood up to the wind even when canopy style framed tents were blowing over next to us! We also tended to go down to two poles and created a little wind sock type approach when it was very windy. That still worked great for 4 of us to find shade. The only minor disappointment is that it truly is t waterproof. It rained once and the rain came straight through. We are fine with that though as we typically head in with rain. We saw several of these on the beach while we were there. Get it. Used right you won’t be disappointed!!!
