They Velcro onto Existing roof racks nice and tight and it comes with straps. We used it for our kayak to go to my brothers.

Very poor fit for the "aero tube" form factor of my truck's ladder rack. My use case is kayaks and a SUP -- these pads will likely work better on an SUV with factory installed roof rack and I will pass them along for my son to try on his Honda Pilot.

The system is intuitive and easy to install. Padding offers good protection for a single board and solid support for a full bag. Straps are sturdy and hold board or bag tightly in place with no vibration sounds during extended driving at 65 mph on I-95 and GSP. Storage bag and folding design of pads make storage easy and convenient.

I agree with a couple of other reviews, these are nice for the cross bars that are wider. I found on my vehicle the pads secured as intended and I have not noticed any loosening of the pads. I am using these pads for transporting heavy kayaks and I think the pads help prevent any marks or gouging into the kayak material.

The rack rail pads add protection for the roof of my RAV4 plus increase the stability of the rooftop cargo. Very nice looking product. It even came with tie down straps for securing the kayak.
