I purchased two pairs of these (blue and black) for my 14 yr old son. He is very pleased with them and they have held up well in the wash. I did have to burn the ends of the drawstring with a lighter because it began to fray after the first wash but since then it hasn't been an issue. They are a lightweight, almost swimwear, material. Very happy with the quality and affordability of these shorts
