I am a volunteer secretary at a local organization and responsible for taking notes and creating minutes. Before using this microphone to help me with recording the meetings, I was under the stress of old style note taking, concern about potential forgotten details. I began recording with just my phone and the voices would get lost under the shuffle of paper or chairs being moved from one place to another. Since adding this microphone to my arsenal I have not had the lost voices issue and have not had any problems missing information. As a matter of fact, letting the mic and the phone do the recording, I am free to listen and actively participate of the meetings. The mic recording is very clear and does not require of any special attachements.

Fairly directional microphone. 85% of the sound in front is captured with 15% of the background noise is recorded. (These numbers are guesstimates) Wind noise substantially reduced compared to built-in camera microphones. You can pay five times more and have the same results.

Good mic for vlogging, sound quality is clear if a little bassy at times. I bought it for concerts, which I should have read a little more on the specs as it does clip at loud volumes. No fault except my own there, the mic does its job very well.

The microphone was mid. It was only amazing in calm settings. I organize events every once in a while and needed this mic to capture audio from my events. The audio feed was very distorted and sounded horrible. This mic only works in settings where there isn't a ton of noise.

I’ve use this microphone for a while now, and it’s been consistently reliable. The build quality is fine but I would not be too rough with it. The mount is plastic so do not tightly screw it to any mount because it will crack. The cable is curly and can stretch. Audio quality is fine. It is the same quality you would get with an modern iPhone.

I ordered both this BOYA by-MM1 On-Camera Shotgun Mic & the Boya BY-M1S LAV Lapel Mic at the same time and tested both with an Android by Motorola. Hard to tell their recordings apart and both are so much better than the built-in phone mic recording. Plug them in, tell the phone to not use the built-in mic, and you're good to go— simple! Not as good as costly professional mics but not at all bad. Excellent value for the small $$. No self-noise, reasonable avoidance of environmental noise. Okay, I love both of them. Disclaimers: I am not a sound expert and don't read specs, my voice is medium-male, I have tested them only with the Android not with a PC or Mac.

With both my computer and phone, I could hear constant static hiss on the recordings. Nothing I could go to get rid of the noise. Applying a noise filter distorted the audio to the point that it sounded like I was in a tin can. Do not recommend this mic for use with a computer mic input or cell phone (Google Pixel 4a).

I should start by pointing out that I own lots of pro audio gear, and this is certainly not serious professional quality. But for the money, this kit is amazing! And the types of cameras this is intended for really could not possibly support bigger, heavier, power-hungry pro microphones anyway. I purchased this to keep on hand for my Canon G7X III. I bought a metal bracket for that camera that adds a couple of cold shoes, so this mounts perfectly to that configuration. I've paid more for a similar accessory windscreen alone than what this whole kit costs. For smartphones or compact cameras, this represents a significant upgrade in sound quality and directionality. Make no mistake, though: this is not a serious shotgun microphone. So don't expect it to magically give you broadcast quality audio from great distances. But for vlogging or shooting close to a subject, this does wonders to improve sound.

La verdad que es un excelente micrófono, la calidad es buena y por el costo la verdad vale la pena. Solo estarÃa bueno que incluyeran un cable más largo para darle otras aplicaciones, pero igual está bien.

Das Mikrofon war ordentlich verpackt, und die Lieferung erfolgte zügig. In der Nutzung hinterlässt es einen sehr guten Eindruck, mit kaum merklichen Unterschieden zu teureren Modellen. Für den Außenbereich würde ich jedoch ein hochwertigeres Produkt empfehlen. Dennoch überzeugt das Mikrofon auch draußen, und im Innenbereich ist es eine klare Empfehlung. Fünf Sterne für dieses Mikrofon – Preis-Leistung ist absolut top.
