I ordered 2 sets of 2 skins - they arrived promptly. 2 of the skins are medium thick, one medium, one medium thin. I would use them 2 for bongo drums, 2 for doumbeks. They are good for the price!

This is my first time working with any kind of animal skin. Since it's a 2-pack, I can experiment. I'm using one to make a frame drum out of a large cookie tin, goat skin head, and a large rubber band. It was easy to take the skin out of the shipping tube and soak it in warm water. I let it soak for a couple of hours, removed it, and quickly patted it dry with a towel. Skin was easy to work with, no worries of tearing. On one of the heads, I did notice pencil lines that went all across the surface (from when the manufacturers were prepping it for cutting), but i simply erased them and the lines came off easily. The skin was a generous size and the frame already sounds great, though i'm still waiting for it to dry thoroughly. For the 2nd skin, I'll either make a proper frame drum with a nice wood frame or try making my own banjo. Good value and easy to work with.

Very thin. There were lines on it from whomever drawing a circle to cut it out. I wouldn't buy again. Too thin for round dance drum. Too thin for anything I'd want to use it for

I find these to be relatively thin skins, which I am hoping will make for an easier replacement job on my bongos. They feel about half as thick/stiff as another pair of bongo skins that I have waiting to be replaced as well... I have not done this myself yet, so soon I will have a project weekend and tackle both. I can see the distinct difference between the rough and the smooth sides of the skin, and I will mark them before I soak them, so I can get the correct side on the hand contact surface. I notice some variation (skin lines), but the surface is solid and in tact not broken. I will report back if anything is amiss. This is my first time I will replace skins and I have found some good instructions elsewhere online. So far I see that these have good ratings, so I will trust that for now.
