This tool is great! It works well, is easy to use, and works for single or dual piston-type calipers. My only complaint is that the magnet that holds the adapter for dual calipers, it isn’t very strong. So the adapter usually won’t stay by itself. But other than that, I am pleased with this tool!

Does not come with instructions, but how hard can it be to figure out, right? (famous last words) I was just about to return it, got it working late in the job. The ratchet mechanism won't really engage until there is pressure on both plates. What ended up working for me was to unscrew one of the plates until it just fit in the caliper (only one plate unscrews). With the tool in the caliper, either hold the plates down or twist it a little to create some pressure and start to ratchet. It took me a few tries, but I finally got it working in the right direction and once engaged it was easy to compress the caliper on a dual cylinder (HD) setup.

don't know why I waited so long to get something like this! The old C-clamp method SUCKS! Worked great but I have to admit that it was too large for the rear calipers on my mini cooper so I can't throw away the C-Clamps just yet.

After the outside pistons were compressed, it starts to push on the inside, the tool warps and no longer keeps the plates straight, it then slips off the pads.

The tool itself is made of good materials and manufactured well. The larger pads are magnetic and keyed to fit over smaller pads to facilitate quick change out to use on autos and trucks with dual caliper piston. The caliper hangers are also made of durable metal that does not bend easily.
