Here is how it works this sundial compass Clock
- Lay this Sundial/Compass on a flat place in the sunshine. I use an outside picnic table to lay it on.
- Push the button that looks like a watch winder. The spring loaded top will pop open.
- Turn the Sundial/Compass until the compass needle is pointing to the North mark on the inside of the Sundial/Compass.
- Shut the top of the Sundial/Compass gently so as not to turn it and change the North setting.
- Now very gently pull up the Sundial arm until it is pointing straight up. (Or you can pull the sun dial arm up before you open the top)

I bought this as a gift for a family member who enjoys nautical decor. Its very nicely constructed and heavy. I don’t know if it actually works like a compass should, but I’m sure it does.
