Great little machine. It doesn't take much room and does a lot. I love the fact that you can regulate the speed. This is unusual for a hand held.

Great kitchen tool. I've used it on the stove to blend cooked veggies into a warm gravy to serve over meat, rice and potatoes. Really whips up meringue for desserts. Not as noisy as I though and has plenty of power. Good value for the money.

Like a lot of people, I bought this because the NYT Wirecutter recommended it as the best immersion blender out there.I like that it has variable speeds, and quick access to full power with a separate button so you don't need to try to turn the speed dial while it is running. It is a very ergonomic design, easy to hold and control, and it seems to have plenty of power.I decided that ultimately, I like that the little hood that covers the blade doesn't have any gaps or holes in it. To be clear, that design choice is somewhat of a mixed bag. Some other immersion blenders have gaps or perforations in the hood to help circulate the material better, but at greater risk of splashing. The main downside of this closed hood design is when you want to whip air into eggs or whatever, it requires pulling the head almost entirely out of what you are mixing, repeatedly. Not a big deal, and I think that, overall, it is more important to keep stuff from splashing vs. the incremental benefits of slots in the hood, but it is a noticeable change from how my last hand blender worked.Cleaning it is easy. I hand wash the beater but the instructions say you can theoretically throw it in the dishwasher.I bought the basic one without all the attachments. I also bought a separate, metal milkshake cup, which I use with this constantly for everything, not just milkshakes. They give you a thin, plastic mixing cup, but I learned the hard way that even very solid glassware is really not up for being used with a hand blender. You can get away with it for a while, but it puts absurd stress on the glass. So I don't expect the thin plastic cup to fare much better. Do yourself a favor and get a metal milkshake cup to use with this if you don't already have one, they are cheap, oversized, indestructible and make using a hand blender so much easier.

My old blender was designed just like this but was an off brand. The speed dial, in my opinion, didn't seem to do much. I watched someone's video showing that changing the dial actually does raise or lower the speed on the Braun so I decided to order it.This blender has been amazing! I make an eggnog latte every morning and this is my go-to gadget. Besides the dial speed that actually works and reduces splatter, it's also easier to clean. My old one had a really deep cavity where the blades are and it was harder to clean. I was always poking myself trying to get in there and remove the residue. Braun was smart enough to put in a plastic barrier that keeps the ingredients from getting very deep in that blending head so it's very easy to rinse and wash with a sponge (or whatever).The Turbo speed seems to get much higher than turning the dial all the way up. So if you need a higher speed, then you have the ability to use this feature. For me, since the dial can turn it way down while still blending my ingredients, I have little to no splatter on my kitchen counter. This used to be a problem with my old blender.Hoping it lasts as long as my first blender which was also by Braun. Lasted for a couple of decades, I think. Overall, I recommend this unit!

I give this 5 stars because I can't give it 10. The thoughtfulness of the design is excellent as is the obvious quality of mfg. When you pick it up, it has heft, indicating a heavy-duty motor which will last, unlike some el-cheapo chinese import. I especially love the rheostat/variable speed control (like a Dremel tool, guys), which gives you exactly the speed you want. I also like the guarded mixing blade on the wand. When using one of these, one will invariably lift it a bit too high, thereby decorating the wall, the floor and the user. Not so with this one. All the really useful attachments it comes with just make it better.Most importantly; this was a birthday gift for my wife and she LOVES it, which is the most important thing. "Happy wife, happy life!!"

10/30/24: I am so happy with this, and it's so much better than my old one, that even if it died tomorrow I'd order a new one without hesitation. Everything about it is a substantial upgrade. Plus it's easy to use and all the accessories just add to the fun.I'm primarily using it for protein shakes right now because that's what I need. The wand with the blade is perfect for my use and I use an OXO Good Grips 4-Cup Squeeze & Pour Silicone Measuring Cup to blend and pour. The extra space in the cup keeps the mess off my counter. Really like the two speeds, but I use the higher one for my shakes.The included cup is huge and a great size. My only want is that it had a lid for storage in the fridge.10/27/24: Just arrived today. This is a replacement for an older MQ that was a workhorse for me for a long time. And I didn't baby it. Still runs well but it was time for an upgrade. Out of the box the MQ5025 is beautiful and a VERY NICE upgrade. I haven't tested it yet but once I do I'll adjust my rating and review based on my findings. Meanwhile, 3-stars to start until I can see what this gorgeous, corded, beast can do.

I bought this to make whipped cream. It works really well and now I have so much whipped cream. I mean, a LOT of whipped cream. My entire kitchen is full of it. After filling my fridge and freezer I started to just leave it on the counters, on the floor and even just making it directly in the sink. It’s everywhere. My dining room is only half full so I have lots more shipping to go. This little machine is holding up beautifully. I was gonna buy a second one for my wife to use so we could make even more whipped cream but she left me due to there being so much whipped cream all over our house. I don’t even know what to do with all this whipped cream because I’m lactose intolerant. Anyways, gotta go make more whipped cream! Happy churning!

Excellent power, detachable blade section makes for easy cleaning. Design prevents excessive splashing, which is great if you need to use it on hot liquids that are already cooking.

Great product; love the variable speeds, durable, easy to clean. I particularly like the chopping container accessory, great for small batches. The blunt blade on that accessory isn’t sharp which is nice for safety. Really happy with this purchase.
