You must not resist it.The cork is smooth and pleasingly thin allowing you to accurately mark the surface or substrates the ruler sits upon with confidence. The UTMOST confidence.Measuring anything at all with this “ruler†is akin to knowing the size of god. The machining is so good, you know it’s that real.Any time anyone sees me using it, I get so many compliments!I am so satisfied with this product that without question I will need to order the 12†model as well for greater ease of use in finer details of sigiling. My wife loves this yard stick due to its materials. The ruler itself is metal but the cork backing really makes it nice when she is cutting material. Thanks

Even with trying alternatives, I keep coming back to these stainless steel, cork-backed, and flexible rulers. However, this product is made of such thin metal that the sharp edge cuts into the pencil's graphite.

As an artist of whimsical drawings created with ink and colored pencils I rely heavily upon my beloved metal ruler with cork backing. Those in the "art-know" are well aware how ink has a distinct purpose to attack and ruin drawings by running under rulers and blobbing. This is known as blobbing. To prevent blobbing, my beloved metal ruler with cork backing has always been there for me. Through thick and thin, When I reached for it, it was there. For many, many years - over 50 to be exact. Until the other day. While this may not seem all that important to most, there are some of you that will understand the absolute panic that ran through my entire being. My old friend was gone! I was frozen to the spot in absolute shock and horror. When my addled brain finally wrapped itself around this horrific dilemma, I did the only possible thing I could - I searched for National Art Supply on Amazon. Those trustworthy art geeks must have a (dare I say it???) replacement for Old Blue. Within days of my order, my new, soon-to-be-old-friend arrived much to my delight. While we are still getting to know one another, I can happily say I am no longer trembling or twitching. It is trying hard to MEASURE UP (get it?) to Old Blue. It is doing a fine job and I am thinking of calling it "New Blue." My only hesitation is I don't want to intimidate New Blue with Old Blue's memories. Tangled webs people! They are the worst.

I have had this ruler for a couple of weeks now and have used it for my art classes in college and it bends a lot without breaking and doesn’t slide around on the table when I’m measuring stuff.

The ruler is a thin piece of laser etched sheet metal and cork. combined it’s less than 1mm. so shoddily made that it warps with the slightest force and flops under it’s own weight. For $23 this is an absolute scam. Avoid.

Ordered a metal ruler with a corked back so I could measure and cut stuff easily, and that's exactly what I can do with this fine specimen. No ruler has ever been so straight and pure of heart. It's now my "go to" straight edge in times of need.

Llegaron en la fecha esperada, cumplen su funcion, solo que si son bastante delgadas y se doblan. A mi me resultaron utiles para las tareas de mis hijos pero para algo profesional creo que no serian las indicadas
