I've hunted for years for a microwave with intuitive controls like this one has. I'm mainly talking about just the microwave feature, although I also had no problem using the controls for the air frying or baking, but my problem there is figuring out which mode and which pan to use and for how long and the temp, which is not a controls issue. Back to the micro controls. You just put your stuff on the plate, stick it in, and push the top time dial for as many times as you need to add up to the minutes, or just once and turn to the right or left to increase or decrease. You can increase or decrease the time at any moment during the cooking, too.You can also increase or decrease the power level at anytime during the cooking (or before, as long as you have closed the door). I do not believe I have ever seen this in any other microwave, and it is super for starting foods off fast then slowing them down if they look like they are getting done but you want the center to cook longer. This is so intuitive and useful! The "a bit more" button is also cool, as it adds more time based upon a percentage of the time previously set. So it's not always "add 30" but might be as much as 1.5 minutes (I don't cook for long in the micro, so I do not know if it ever gets more than that.) But if you press it again, you will get a shorter "bit more." Clever.I do wish there was a button to grill the tops of garlic bread at the end of air frying them, as I haven't figured out how to get the same crispiness of the crust without drying out the inside of the bread as I get on a "real" oven, yet. Neither air fry or fast combi seems to do it, and bake takes as long as a real oven. There is a grill button hidden behind the door for some reason. I will experiment with that one of these days. I guess they figure most folks won't use this as a "grill" which is true, but maybe just to crisp up the top of baked goods?edit: I forgot to mention TWO (2) other favorite features. 1. The fan cool off. I have always left my door open a bit after using microwaves to allow the odors and steam to escape and the inside to cool off. This one leaves the fan on for a short time to do that for you so you don't have to remember to come back and shut the door. 2. speaking of the door, all you have to do to shut it while carrying something with both hands is gently tap it with a shoulder or elbow to get it to move nearly closed and it quietly tugs itself shut! talk about cool!

The combination of functions-- microwave, convection oven, air fryer-- makes this oven truly versatile and separate devices for these functions unnecessary except for large meals that need to serve many persons. It it quiet, the door closes softly as advertised, with the microwave having an inverter it truly does provide a full 10% - 100% range of power and not the artificial and almost worthless 100% on / 100% off simulation of variable power in non-inverter ovens. And full range of functions with the buttons controlling some of those cleverly hidden inside the door frame so as to keep the face of the unit clean and uncluttered. Plus it's a beautiful thing. I'm using it many times each day and it's totally reliable with uniformly good results. The heat distribution on things like microwaving bacon (in paper towels inside a microwaveable plate, takes away much of the fat leaving just the great flavor) could be a little better but that's a small shortcoming. Very happy to have bought this.

We returned the unit which wasn't functioning to the appliance store in Florida. They did not have a another one so we ended up buying one directly from Amazon at a slightly higher price. Have had the unit for over a year now. For all intents and purposes it does what it says it will. Strengths - velvet smooth door closure - very quiet - it actually closes itself. Ability to mute all appliance beeps and whistles. Perfect stick butter softener feature. Also, this microwave is the only microwave that I have ever had that produces an over abundance of steam, so much so that the fan runs for about 15 seconds after the microwave shuts down. Does wonders with stale bread. Very sturdily built and looks stunning on the counter. Weaknesses - if this thing is 1200 watts I will eat my shorts. It takes about a fourth longer than my old 1300 watt Panasonic did to heat things on high. But it does get the job done and the speed difference is not that noticable after you get used to it. The thing is a nightmare to clean. The browning element is not removable and you need to be a contortionist to really get those splatters off up under there. In order to use the toasting feature you need to use a special pan that comes with the unit. This $80 to $120 pan is made of plastic with a very scratchable Silverstone finish. It raises what ever you are browning up under the element. This feature does work, however it take about twice as long as my Panasonic toaster oven does. We were going to get rid of the toaster oven but after dealing with the storage and other issues of the special pan for about 6 months I decided to just go back to using the toaster oven. Additionally, anything cooked in the air fryer really splatters up under the browning element making for even more mess to clean up. Lastly, do yourself a favor if you buy one and get the extended warranty. I wish I had but it wasn't available at the time. Would I buy this appliance again? Probably not. It is space saving but is simply not convenient to use. So I have a $460 microwave with a lot of fancy features that I never use. I'll skip this all next time and go back to the cheaper/faster Panasonic single use.

I have used this microwave for baking, air frying and microwaving in the short time I had this appliance. I'm impressed with the baking and air frying, which works well. I am slightly disappointed with the microwave power. It takes approximately 10 to 15 seconds longer to heat a cup of water versus my other microwave. However, I microwaved a bag a popcorn by selecting the Popcorn Button and it turned out perfectly in the same amount of time as my other microwave in two and half minutes. So far, this microwave is functioning as advertised and with its additional capabilities I'm impressed with it. This appliance is on the expensive side of similar microwaves; however, I intend to keep it.
