I just purchased my second wok for my vacation home. I have gifted it 4 times as a wedding gift. This is amazing in how fast it heats, non stick, quick clean up. From Pham Thai to quick stir fry in large quantities. Works great for center table serving and cooking shabo-shabu as group. You wont regret this wok.

My wok was a gift from a friend. When it arrived I was amazed how big it is. And I love how heavy and thick both the wok and the glass are. The lid alone weighs 3.4 pounds. At first thought it was way too big for my tiny apartment kitchen. I don't have much counter space so I keep in on my stovetop because I'm not using the burners now and doing everything in my wok. I absolutly love it!I've had other non-electric woks in the past but always ended up just getting rid of them. This wok is a whole different story. It's perfect for stir frying. The non stick is remarkable. Cleans very easily. The bowl is easily removed from the base for cleaning. But now i'm just using paper towels and water with a tiny bit of dish soap to wipe it out and it's so easy. I love the way it cooks chicken. Cooks fresh and frozen vegetables. I love the high sides which are great for stir-frying. It makes perfect scrambled eggs. Great for toasting nuts and making croutons. You don't need to add oil although I do use avocado oil accassionally. Avocado oil has a mild taste and has a burning point up to 500 degrees. Other oils, olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc. all burn and smoke at a much lower temp.I plan to make soup, stews, casseroles and hamburgers in my wok. I will try french toast and popcorn next. The possibilities are endless.Other great features are the plug that goes into the wall and into the wok. The part that goes into the wok has a lever making it come out easier. The other end that plugs into the wall has a hole in the plug that makes it super easy, and safe to unplug. I love everything about this wok. A lot of thought was given by the manufacturers into every detail. I think it is well worth the cost and I plan to order 2 more of these for my kids Christmas gifts.

It is very sturdy and heats quickly/evenly. Cleanup is a breeze as the base disconnects easily from the non-stick cooking surface. Well worth the price and would definitely purchase again.

I read the reviews on this wok extensively before I bought it. So far it seems to work as well as most reviews say. Some reviews stated that this wok seems large and takes up a lot of space. It is however, just a normal sized wok. In fact when I first took it out of the package I thought it might be too small and wondered if I should have gotten the larger version. The bowl walls are thick and heavy duty. This is probably the first time that I have been able to make Asian food without consistently overcooking it. The sear function works very well. In most cases for stir frying I leave the wok on this setting for the entire cooking time. I did find it is better to cook meats in smaller batches to get the best searing results and to avoid 'stewing'. I also had the best results when I let it warm up on sear for the recommended 10 minutes. I have not had any problems with the bottom of the wok getting too hot for the counter top as some others have states but I guess its better to be safe. The wok is easy to clean. Once you get the hang of separating the bowl from the base clean up is a cinch. (It did take a few trys to learn how to take the base off and on) Although technically the bowl is dishwasher safe it's easier to hand wash. To prevent scratching of the nonstick surface which was also a complaint of some users, I use a spoon shaped high heat rubber spatula. Works great. The cord is really heavy duty and has the easy pull ring on the plug. The wok end of the plug actually locks in to the wok for safety and has a quick release lever for easy removal.Probably the only thing I really don't like is that the temperature dial is numbered instead of showing the temperature in degrees. When deep frying things or when using low heat I like to know what the temperature is.This wok has definitely brought back the fun in Asian cooking. I could never get results like this on my electric stove. I am looking forward to trying some traditional foods next. Specifically, I want to see if it will work to steam dumplings for chicken and dumplings.

The Brevillie BEW600XL is a serious piece of hardware. Do not confuse it with the less expensive electric woks. If you have determined that a traditional wok is not for you, then electric is the way to go.This wok heats up very quickly and will have 3/4" deep peanut oil ready for deep frying in less than 12 minutes. The high heat temperature is not what a gas flame will produce but it will sear meat nicely as long as you limit quantity to half a pound. Can you duplicate gas flame performance in this wok? I can not say yet as I have just cooked a few dishes in it. It does stir fry and deep fry nicely. I have yet to perfect "wok hey" so I do not yet know if this will produce the magic of a traditional wok using gas or coals. Give me a few years...I do believe it will cook almost any dish very well as long as the quantity is kept to 1/2 lb for searing and more if making stir fry, stew or soup.Cleanup is a breeze by hand and the high tec coating appears to be some of the most durable on the planet. That said, please make sure to only use bamboo or wood utensils in it and clean with a bamboo or plastic brush or a soft sponge. The deep sides and 14" diameter make for ample cooking space but could be a storage issue if you are limited on space. Storing with the lid upside down keeps it clean while limiting the height.A great appliance in capability and versatility.

This wok heats up quickly and performs well. The size is still generous for a small family. The glass lid is handy and has a vent. It’s also easy to clean. I recommend this wok as Breville appliances are well made, durable, and worth the extra money!

I had to replace my 16 year old wok and this wok has more than fulfilled my expectation. The wok heats up incredibly fast. The instruction and the YouTube video for this wok advised me to let the wok heat up for ten minutes for the best result. I had found that it only took a couple of minutes to reach the temperature that I am comfortable with. The stir fry chow mein I made from this wok - is incredibly tasty. Of course, it's about having every thing ready for the stir fry. It's about organization. I have millions of Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese stir fry cookbooks and I ended up in experimenting with various sauces. AND WOW...this Breville wok made the stir frying process easy - and lightning quick. For my first few stir fries, I had this wok to boil the water for the noodles and then after quickly cleaned the wok, I flash fried the vegetables and meat...and the result was always yummi-delicious...PLEASE NOTE: Even though the ad indicates that the wok includes a spatula and a steam rack, please ask the chosen seller - to see if the package does include the two items.

This is by far the best wok we have ever had. I love that the bowl is like an actual wok and not having a flat bottom where the element is. The wok is hot from bottom to top of the bowl so be careful. The wok is quite heavy and stays where it is placed. With removeable base the unit is easy to clean, and the glass lid is a bonus as you can keep an eye on the cooking.

Not exactly as advertised but still a good appliance. The info said that it comes with a spatula and a steamer but it didn't. I returned it no problem and received a new one that also did not come with the accessories. It was concluded by Amazon Customer Service that the manufacturer no longer included those items. There was no price adjustment. The wok itself? Awesome. Heats well, cleans like a dream.

Quick update since my negative experience below. Breville product support has been very cooperative and are working to resolve the lid issue. It’s important to register a product as soon as you buy it.I gave the review below when I first got my wok. Yesterday I had a disappointing experience. While something was cooking and with no one touching the lid, the bottom screw on the lid fell right into my boiling sauce. I dug out a screw, spring, rubber ring and some kind of seal. This wok is not even 6 months old, how is the lid falling apart? I still love the wok but am disappointed about the lid. This is such a great quality wok! I’ve only had it for a month and I love it. I like that the base detaches, makes cleaning easier. It’s a little heavier than I expected which is not a problem for me. I store mine in one of my deep kitchen drawers.
