So far I have it in secondary fermentation. Got a taste during the gravity reading and I can tell it's going to be good when completed in two weeks. I still have the dry hop to go and then bottle conditioning.Edit: Finished bottle conditioning and I have to say it's better than I expected. It's got a nice hazy look, nice head and tastes great.

I'm an experienced home brewer and have done lots of all-grain brewing, so the "advanced" nature of this kit didn't phase me. I'm also a big fan of New England IPAs and have been trying for years to create one that does the NEIPA style justice. I have yet to succeed. This kit was a step back from all grain to just see if a commercial kit that was relatively easier than all grain could yield good results.Brew day went smoothly. All the ingredients were there, and the instructions were clear. I left it in the primary fermenter for a week, transferred to the secondary fermenter. I then kegged and force carbonated rather than bottling and using the priming sugar. The end result was more like a regular IPA, but not too bitter, which was fine by me. The beer had a slight haze for the first couple of weeks but then fully cleared unlike a NEIPA. The hop aroma also wore off quickly. After a month or so in the keg, it was more like a typical pale ale. Not bad, but not a NEIPA. So, overall, I give this 4 stars.

Great product easy to use and excellent customer service. Very easy to use with their beer making kit. Taste was decent for a first batch.Taste we found got better letting it sit in the bottles for longer than a week. Each week we found it had a better taste so far.

I know this is an “advanced†skill level kit, but I chose it for my first attempt at brewing my own. (Don’t let the skill level put you off.) First-rate kit contents and instructions. Did not rack to secondary, but went from primary to bottling pail. There are a lot of hops in this brew so you will have difficulty getting a full 5 gallons out of it, but the result was a very tasty beer quite close to style and nicely carbonated. I hope the Imperial Palm Ale turns out as well as this one did.

Solid product. My batch turned out really good. More of a hazy ipa than a NEIPA but still great beer. I did not rack into a secondary fermenter. Fermented all from the same vessel. Racked the beer from fermenter to carboy for bottling.

This turned out pretty good. I wound up splitting this beer into 2 batches, 2.5gal at a time. Glad I did, cuz i learned a couple of details along the 1st batch. The 2nd came out way better. So, out of the box if u follow the instructions, you will have an average drinkable beer. But most likely not exactly what I would call a "New England IPA (NEIPA)". Being from CT, I have the luxury of having tons of these types of beers easily available. So here's what I did on batch #2 to get a much better result & a beer that resembles a nice NEIPA. The water profile is kinda important for this beer type. I used a 50/50 of tap & reverse osmosis water. This put my calcium chloride & sulphates in the ~125-150 ppm. You can most likely get a mineral report online of your water company to find out what your levels of minerals are and the dilute them with distilled or reverse osmosis water. Also, get campden tablets, available here on Amazon for very cheap, and treat your water the day before (1-tablet to 6-gal water). This will kill the chlorine in the water, also very important. Next, I followed the recipe all the way up to the whirlpool section. At this point, I added my whirlpool hops @ 175F instead of 180F that the instructions called for I believe, I found this to tone down the bitterness a tad more allow the juicy hop flavors to shine through. I also added additional hops to the whirlpool, citra & mosaic hops. I split my whirlpool hops in half, 1st half were added @ the beginning of the 30mins @ 175F, the 2nd half 15 mins in @ ~140F. Also, I used a drill powered paint mixer paddle to stir the whirlpool (this is a must & will save your arm from stirring half hour... Ouch). Next, when my wort was in the fermenter, I used d paint mixer once again to add oxygen to the wort before pitching the yeast (about 5 minutes of mixing). And lastly, I also added some extra hops to the dry hopping stage, more citra & mosaic on top of what the recipe called for. Unfortunately my 3yr old made my recipe tweak sheet magically disappear so I can't recall exactly how much additional hops i added to the whirlpool & dry hopping stage, but it was in the 1-1.5oz extra range per stage. The final result was an amazing hazy orange juice color beer with low bitterness and potent tropical juicy aroma w citrus & melon note flavors. An amazing silky smooth mouth feel like u would expect from a nice NEIPA. Oh, one very important detail, I used a pellet gun to pump CO2 into the head space of the fermenter after adding my dry hops to purge oxygen away from the head space. And purged the oxygen out of the bottles as well w the gun prior to filling them & blasted the top head space of the bottles carefully before putting on d caps. This is extremely important for this beer style due to amounts of hops. Hops oxidize very quickly when exposed to oxygen. If the oxygen is not purged, u will end up a very dark brown beer & all the aromatics & hop fruity characters will be ruined.I know this seems a tad complicated, but it really isn't. And it will make a world of a difference in the end product. The 1st batch I made just following the recipe instructions lacked flavor, mouth feel, aroma & came out dark brown, almost like a new castle brown ale color if you're familiar with that beer.

My fifth ever batch and it turned out better than at least one NEIPAs from an established brewery that I've drunk.I feel my brew game has really taken a great leap forward with this kit and am posting this review in the hope that Brewer's Best keeps this one going.

First “not pre-mix†beer a made and I can tell you its very good! I can put a sticker on it and sell it like a good microbrewery! I have followed step by step very carefully and the result it perfect! Highly recommend for advanced beginner and advanced home brewer.

I bought this for my boyfriend as a gift, it said “for beginners†but I beg to differ! The box said “everything you needâ€, but the kit required tanks and various other equipment to get started, and we were both beyond confused reading the instructions. For a complete noob like me, I feel that the instructions and what is really required to make the first brew should be clearly stated.

Taste turned out great but only %60 of the bottles had carbonation had to wait over a month to have any carbonation. Going to wait and get a keg before making another batch.

I ordered the NEIPA kit, and received a Stout kit. This was sent as a Christmas gift for someone who loves IPA’s, so I was disappointed when they received it and told me it was the kit for Stouts instead. The items are good quality, and it will still be a great start to a new hobby, but it is not what I ordered.
