This oil is being used in a 23-hp B & S engine operated inside a van year round. It is supposed to burn less oil and is for higher temps than any other oil I've tried. I cannot say for certain that it is better than the Mobil 1 5W30 synthetic I've used for years. After only a few weeks of use the rear engine seal came out of my engine. I've had expert, highly trained and HIGHLY PAID mechanics tell me they believe this oil caused this failure and they do not recommend continuing to use it. There is more to this story, but it has already cost me a lot of money and right now my equipment is unusable since now other seals and gaskets on the engine have also failed. I tend to agree that this oil caused this failure. My advice is do not buy this oil and for certain, if you've been using a different type of oil DO NOT change over to this oil under any circumstances. It's hard to prove that the oil caused this, but this happened within about 2 weeks of using this oil. Make up your own mind, but mine is already made up. I will not ever use another drop of Vanguard 15W50 oil and highly caution anyone from using this oil. I do not care what Briggs & Stratton says. I seriously regret the poor decision to change to this oil.
