I bought this to put inside a curio cabinet that I had set up for cacti because they were getting a little too much humidity with the doors closed. The cabinet is over six feet tall and is about 4 feet wide and this works really well for the size.Just in case anyone else is planning on using this for plants, I have 4 shelves of cacti and succulents and they are all doing really well with this in there with them. The installation took like 2 minutes with the sticky pads, but would probably take another minute or so with the screws. The cord is really convenient because you can drop it through the access hole for the power without having to worry about the bulk of the plug because of the way that it can detach and reconnect to itself. This is a really awesome product and I would definitely buy another one if the need came up.

I live near the coast and we have a high-humidity problem in our house. The constant humidity settles in our cabinets and we have potential mold problem. I have lots of these dehumidifier rods in my kitchen and hallway cabinets. The heat is not too high to cause a fire, just warm enough to keep air circulating inside the cabinets. This prevents mold from ruining our wooden bowl, etc.Great invention and not as maintenance intensive as the dehumidifier trays with salt.

Good quality and works as described, but it didn't suit my specific needs for dehumidifying

I bought two of the 12 inch. Tested both with a Kill A Watt meter and found both use 8 watts each in the house at 68 deg F and 10 watts outside at 32 deg F.Both get comfortably warm to the touch. Not hot. You don't want hot! These do not physically remove moisture from the air. They do slightly raise the air temp in an enclosed space, which has the effect of lowering the relative humidity. An 8 watt light bulb would do the same. The connector included makes running the wire through a small hole easy. The right angle plug is also perfect for my application.

Competitively priced, easy to install but not sure if it puts out enough heat. Heating element is warm to the touch but not at the 130 deg. stated in the literature. We'll take a wait and see approach.

Used to raise the temperature higher than ambient in an aircraft engine cowling. Does a job beautifully. Easy to install and it’s not overly hot causing a fire concern.

Lo compré para un clóset con mucha humedad y siento que casi no calienta (pero no estoy segura si asà deberÃa de ser o si deberÃa ser más caliente)

Works great. Small and unobtrusive and keeps temp and humidity fairly constant. Wish it had some way to hang or mount.

I put this heating rod in a 8cf firearm safe. The description suggests it's good for 100cf, but in my opinion it's a good size for my 10cf. Temperature is raised maybe 1°C inside the safe. It's a 30-min fireproof unit so it's well insulated and lives in a heated home (not in a garage). So I'm not disappointed for my application but if I had any larger a safe I would be.
