One of the standout features for me was how quick it was to get started. It took me just a few minutes from unboxing to capturing my first time-lapse video. It's a relief not to constantly monitor battery levels during shoots. I have been using the timelapse camera for two months, the battery life is held up remarkably well. Compared to other options on the market, this time lapse camera might come with a slightly higher price. Having experienced cheaper alternatives in the past, I would say its functions and image quality are fully capable of supporting my project recording. After all, shooting without any problems is my primary concern. For anyone in search of a reliable, user-friendly time-lapse camera with long battery life, this is the one to go for.

Bought for a construction project. Followed every instruction. Said it was recording. Checked a month later and it’s recorded literally nothing. Wonderful. What a monumental waste of money.

10+ years ago, Brinno offered the TLC200 Pro, undeniably the best long term time lapse camera, which remains a great solution. As time moved on, all Brinno needed to do was update the 200 Pro with a 1080 sensor and a file format change. They choose a different direction with a few rechargeable cameras, then a giant housing requiring 16 AA batteries. During this time of Brinno product uncertainty, I switched to the Afidus camera, which has many desirable features. Fast forward to the TLC300, which appeared to be the long awaited 200 Pro update. I figured here it is finally, sign me up, let's go.Any enthusiasm I had disappeared quickly, when I discovered Brinno is still using the nearly dead AVI file format. This is not mentioned in the specifications or technical details and is a significant omission. The AVI format is no longer natively supported by Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, iOS, Android and others. The cross-platform, free VLC Media Player will allow you to play the AVI files. However, you may need to convert the files to MP4 or MOV, or obtain a codec to work with the AVI format.Another comparison for Brinno users, the TLC300 exhibits a considerable amount of undesirable noise in low light situations. The 300 shares some of the same exposure selections with the 200 Pro (Day, Twilight and Night). The TLC 200 Pro would compensate for lighting changes very well, regardless of the camera setting. The 300 requires the correct selection and even with Night selected the noise levels when dark are quite noticeable. The overall video quality, from the 300, appears mushy and lacks detail. Experienced Brinno users will notice this more than someone using the camera for the first time. 200 Pro footage at 720 is very good and can easily be scaled to 1080. 300 footage almost appears scaled in the camera. As with Brinno's other interchangeable lens cameras the 300's IR filter is affixed to the rear lens element. The specs note interchangeable CS mount lenses and there are a number to choose from, however only Brinno lenses include a removable IR filter. If you want to use a non-Brinno lens you will need to DIY an IR filter, there are few video how-tos detailing the process. Keep in mind, weather sealing is also a consideration for alternative lens use.Battery life is good, stated 100 days with a 5 minute interval. Don't let run time provide false level of security. Anything can go wrong with an unattended camera, consider two cameras for redundancy and check them regularly. The 300's navigation menu, screen and day of week scheduling are nice improvements, but features shouldn't outweigh performance. Do your research, you have options and I'll be first in line for a Brinno 400 someday.

Disappointed the device cannot take still images. This seems like a simple function, but a more expensive model was is required. Overall video quality is very low making the device all but useless if you care about what the end result looks like.

This time lapse camers is nothing like promoted. I have tried everything under the sun to figure out how to watch the videos I have been taking. They do not sjow up on SD card, do not transfer to iphone or computer. Complete waste of time. In my opinion if they make it this difficult to see what you are recording whats the point. Garbage. Sneding this back monday.
