Is cute and capable of pulling a couple of other train cars along, even on an upward slope. Goes thru batteries rather quickly, I'd advise stocking up or getting rechargeable ones.

I was trying to find a motorized train to go with my kids existing IKEA Lillabo train set without having to spend a fortune on an entirely new set. This Brio engine works perfectly! It’s a bit slow, but it has some oomph to it. Pulls a few ikea pieces behind it without much issue. Great addition to our existing set and plan to buy more. My kids are thrilled! My only issue, and it’s a minor one, is that I wish it had another speed setting. Overall A+++!

This train met all of our expectations. The battery has lasted longer than expected (especially with our son who forgets to turn it off!) The train can also pull 2-3 cars behind it, even up hills! My son loves the light on the front - especially as it goes through the tunnels. It also goes forward and backward (and for some reason our kids like to see it "pushing" the train cars- they find this very funny!) The only downside I can think of is the on/off switch is difficult for a 2 year old to use. To turn it off, you have to get the lever exactly in the middle, or else it switches to forward motion, or backward. This isn't an issue for us, because although the train isn't loud by any means, we can hear when it is still running from the next room, so we know if we have to turn it off for him.

My son loves trains and this train was a great addition except it goes through batteries like crazy. SmhIt works great pulling alot of extra carts? Whatever the back parts of trains are called lolAlso collects alot of hair or fur around the wheels if for whatever reason it will be on the ground. It does its purpose at a hefty price. (batteries)

It works great, pulls 4 out 5 cars over bridges. Go value.

This is the third battery operated train we bought to decorate our wooden track sets. After returning the two before this one, I think this will stay but, I am not still that much satisfied for what I get compared to what I paid.Pros:-Easier to operate compared to the imaginarium express train we bought before. Both trains work on an AAA battery and the battery replacement is through the screw on the chimney. However, to reach the screw you need a thin and long screw driver for imaginarium whereas it is much more accsible for this model. Besides, you do not need to allign the metal circuit bits that carefully with this model which is a pain for the other one.-Grasps the track well. That was the reason I returned our previous battery powered Thomas train which was not very much compatible with tracks other than Thomas itself. The engine was unable to turn the curves and was getting off the track so frequently that it would not even complete one turn without the need for intervention. Compared to that model, this grasps the track well and does not get out of the track even in the sharpest corners.-Small enough for thight spaces such as tunnels. Bigger trains do not fit into fancy structures such as curved passage ways that are sold as accessories for some wooden track systems (we have an imaginarium express wooden track set which has curved elevations in narrow passages and bigger engines get stuck in those places)Cons:-It is very simple with no attractive drawings on it. The imaginarium and Thomas trains look way more appealing compared to this model.-Weak: It can climb elevations okay but at an extremely low speed. It almost feels like the battery is about to die very soon (even just after replacing it) AAA is the wrong choice for battery. It should have been an AA at least for proper and sustainable power Thomas was a way stronger engine.-You need many rechargable batteries since a single AAA does not even last an hour.-Price:.At $20 this is pricier than the previous models I had and I think it does not deserve more than $12-13.In summary, this is not the perfect engine, but since it works I will keep it despite not being fond of it a lot...

Battery keeps running down (could be an operator issue), but the magnets are super strong! This locomotive can pull several cars behind it. My son loves it. Have plenty of batteries on hand!

Runs out of battery every day because it doesn’t turn off. Wouldn’t but. There are better ones out there.

Ordered for my grandson's wooden train track set when I discovered he didn't have a battery powered engine. He was over the moon with the little red and yellow engine when it arrived. Takes one AAA battery by removing single philips screw located inside the exhaust stack. Engine has decent power to pull several cars around the track and even has a small led lamp on the front. I would prefer the manufacturer put the tiny forward-off-reverse on the bottom of these units so that young engineers resist the urge to push down upon the engine and bend the axles but a little coaching with how to handle the toy will ensure longevity. All in all. Pretty great toy for the price

Amazing little train perfect for my boys track. It struggles with any more than 3 carriages up the hills but thats expected
