Bought this product expecting it to fit into a normal 1/2' female NPT (aka NPTF) bung. The threads are straight and will not work. I could barely get 1 thread started. I'm not going to risk messing up the threads on my expensive tank with a cheap fitting.

The threading of this unit is not standard 1/2" piping. Standard piping is 11 1/2"V. Taking a measurementon the unit sent to me it is metric 1.75M. It looks very close, but is not the standard thread that is used incommercial aluminum truck tanks.
