I was skeptical and didn't know if I wanted to add a tool like this to my tool box. I bought this one because it was affordable. I'm impressed with it. I've tested 6 batteries this week and it's pretty accurate. Definitely recommend this tool for even the average mechanic to have in the tool box. Quick health check for battery and charging systems.

I've been looking for a battery tester that can tell me just how far gone some of the car batteries that I've been holding on to were. I have about a dozen different batteries that I've been keeping charged in my garage for use in a future solar power project. All of these batteries are pretty old and have seen better days. A lot of them are gel batteries, a few are AGM batteries and a couple are standard lead acid batteries.On a cold night, I went out and tested all the gel batteries. After entering the proper MCA value for them, I tested each. All of the batteries registered a SOH of between 8-18%. That was a bit shocking as I thought that they were a bit better condition than that. I then tested a AGM battery that is only 1-2 years old that has been sitting in a car that I rarely use. The battery had been run down to nearly dead twice so it is not in perfect condition. After running a test on this battery, it came back as having a SOH of 40%, again, it was much lower than expected.The next day around noon I went out and tested two AGM batteries that are in great condition. One was in a relatively new 2-year-old RAM pickup truck and the other was in a 6-month-old Mercedes SUV. Both came back as having a 100% SOH which is what I expected. I then went and tested the other AGM battery that I had tested the previous night and somehow it now tested at having 68% health left, up from the original 40% health it registered at the previous night. I then went and tested all the gel cell batteries, and they came back at between 12-52% health which leaves me questioning the accuracy of the device.I haven't yet had time to run another round of tests, but will try to see what the results of further testing comes up with and will update my review once I have additional information.

The battery tester worked well and found our problem. It is designed nicely and easy to use. Reads and diagnosed the voltage properly. Well worth having.

At first glance, the Topdiag BT300 12V/24V Battery Tester seems super basic. But once you hook it up and dive in, it will impress. For just testing one component, your battery, it sure offers a lot. I had a 1.5-year-old battery acting up. I charged it all night and then disconnected it from the car and hooked this thing up. It asked me how many CCA my battery was. Once I punched that in, it gave the volts and said REPLACE. My battery was only 10V after charging all night. I went to the auto store and got a free new battery with the help of this little guy. It made it clear what I needed to do instead of messing around with the charger more, thinking that my semi-new battery shouldn’t be bad. This tester is a game-changer for anyone dealing with battery issues. It’s straightforward, reliable, and a must-have for any car owner.
