I used these skinny tables in my training room to give my students a more comfortable way to sit with their manuals during lecture time. It is deep enough to have a comfortable way of using their laptops and manuals. I didn't cover it with a tablecloth. It worked perfectly.

I bought these tables because they were only 18 inches wide which allowed a lot more space inside my thunder booth tent. However, I have plenty of surface area on top to display my items and ample space below for more display. They are sturdy, and pretty lightweight. I bought two and I’m very happy.
