The last time I bought a digital stroboscope it cost three times the price of this one, and was no more accurate. Hence I gave this five stars despite the flaws listed at the bottom.What I like:1) Very accurate. Tested the Hz using my a photomultiplier and a digital meter and it was accurate to one digit in RPM.2) Good light intensity. You can adjust the intensity of the strobe beam, and there is more than enough power for virtually any application except in the harsh sun. For indoor use, this stroboscope is perfect.3) Unlike many stroboscopes, this one includes phase adjustment which handles rotation in either clockwise or counterclockwise directions. [ Note: The phase is not relevant to monitoring rotational motion from the side (orthogonal to the rotational axis). ]What I did not like:1) the manual is truly awful. I was never quite sure what they were trying to say, but since I had experience using stroboscopes, it was not an issue for me. But it might be for you, so be warned the manual will be of little help. In that regard, be careful not to make an aliasing error where you assume the visually locked rotation value is correct. It may be a factor of 2 or more slower.2) the rotational adjustment control on mine was hard to rotate and made it difficult to select the correct RPM. I am hopeful it will loosen up after more use, but right now I need to use two fingers on both sides to rotate it.3) there is no charge indicator, so while you are charging you have no idea whether you have achieved a full charge or not.

This BTMETER Digital Handheld Stroboscope BT-DT10S Super accurate and we were fortunate enough to be able to compare it to one side-by-side that cost three times the price point. They were both as equally as accurate and we are well pleased. The price point of this being under $200 is quite spectacular and we highly recommend this unit and model if you're looking for one. The build quality is also pretty good and although a reasonably thin outer plastic shell it does seem to be robust enough and built well enough to handle professional or semi rough use. We really have no complaints with the construction. The menus and buttons are also good in the unit itself is quite easy to figure out and read. Really a great model and I highly recommend it.

High value product for observing speaker cone motion in slo-mo. Requires some manual effort and dexterity to track frequency with desired offset, but does the job nicely once you get the hang of it.I did sometimes have to dim the lights in my room to get the view I wanted, but hey, it’s way lower cost than pro lab equipment, and I’m pleasantly surprised with it.

The unit came to me with very high friction when turning the jog dial. It got worse very quickly and it is now bound up.

I have used the old style stroboscope from years back. They are very accurate at telling how fast a rotatory object is turning. It flashes a light, in this case an LED set of lights with very short duration repeatedly. This will make the rotation seem to slow or totally stop by varying the flash rate using an adjustment knob. Once you have it adjusted to where it looks like it is stopped, the display will show the rpm the item is rotating at. We use these to test electrical motors and gas engines to validate their tachometers are giving the proper values.All in all this is an excellent unit that works very well and at a fantastic price. Well worth a full 5 stars!

Es un buen tacómetro estroboscopico, aunque la potencia de sus leds no es muy grande. Es decir, puedes usarlo a cortas distancias, menos de 50cm para que puedas ver bien el efecto. Sin embargo considero que eso no le quita las ventajas y sin necesidad de mucho conocimiento es facil de manejar.Me gusto mucho que es muy ligero. Su control de RPMs puede ser mejorado en el futuro, pero mientras tanto funciona bien.
