This stocking kit was purchased to create a surprise for a special addition to our family. Let me tell you the story of our collection of Bucilla Christmas stockings. When my two daughters were small, I got Bucilla kits to make their stockings. These two are about 45 years old & still being hung with care every year & filled to overflowing. Then, when my two grandchildren were small I stitched two more stockings for them. These two are about 25 years old. This year I am making the little polar bears stocking for my grandson’s new wife (they’ve been married a little over one year now.) I am having such fun in every stitch I take to embroider, sequin & appliqué this stocking, and as I do, I’m remembering all the fun I had creating all the others I’ve made over the years.This kit has enabled me to produce a stocking that’s as high in quality as the first ones I made 45 years ago. That’s saying something good about Bucilla’s commitment to enduring quality. Our family now has a collection of heirloom Christmas stockings that spans generations. Thanks Bucilla!

I love how it came out super cute but this is definitely not for beginners. I would say it’s more for intermediate level or above. There are a bunch of details to put in. It took me about two months to finish. I did had to buy more strings and clear beads as there wasn’t enough floss and there was a bunch of broken clear beads. The instructions was difficult to read especially how to embroider as I had to YouTube it.

do not by i will be returning this use to be my favorite felt kit maker. after 150 years of business their product is terrible. i haven’t made this stocking because im returning it. i dont want to start the stocking only to find out the back ground for the front of the stocking doesn’t aline and the shape of the front and back don’t match on the side and toe plus the snow on the front is 1 inch shorter than the back ground that is covering on “the gnome christmas†the next stocking is back ground doesn’t match which was “paying in the snowsâ€â€¦.. do not buy

I have bought and made Bucilla stockings for my children/grandchildren and other family members for many years. The price has steadily gone up, but the quality is definitely not what it once was. The felt was so thin it was translucent in some places. The thread is thinner too, which makes it break easier. It still came out beautiful, but not sure it will hold up as well as the ones I made in past years.

This is a very complicated craft. The black lines are really frustrating as the thread has to be perfect to cover them. They also did not provide enough colored thread for what is needed. I needed extra tan, yellow and red threads tocomplete this project. The bears come in 4 to 8 different pieces that you have to sew together, and the candy canes are even more complicated. They show snowflake sequins but I did not get any of those either.

I have done 19 of these stockings of different designs and have found they are not the quality they were when I first started making them. The floss is not good quality it tears and splits and sometimes a color is missing, the markings on some are to light or are missing. I am really disappointed that the kits are not the quality they used to be
