Colors are really beautiful, easy to follow instructions. These stockings are time consuming but the end result is always a beautiful gift for giving. Pieces are pre stamped so etched piece has to be cut out by hand, sewn and assembled. They are well worth the time to make.

This is the third Bucilla stocking kit I’ve done, and by far, the prettiest. There were a few frustrations with the directions. Example, the first snowman’s arm said to appliqué front to back, and attach, prior to attaching his body. (Step # 20). Then the second arm says to STUFF, appliqué and attach-step #38-39! The picture shows both arms as stuffed, but 19 steps later, I was not going to tear apart and correct. Besides, those arms are SO tiny, how in the world would you stuff them?! I ran out of the metallic thread pretty early on, but it is a pain to work with, so silver embroidery thread (I had leftover from another kit) worked fine. I also ran out of white thread— which is the main color in this kit. I know it sounds like I’m unhappy, but the finished product was a piece of art. My “purple girl†will never know there are mistakes.

This detailed felt stocking kit had everything needed but be warned, this is not a fast project!The trick for getting a good result is simple, follow the directions closely.I lined the stocking with velvet fabric and gave it as a gift.Though it takes time to complete the kit, it's worth it!

Instructions were a bit off but it looks great. I don't like the idea of putting the name on the back of the big snowflake, so I am putting it across the snowman's belly. I do like the bucilla product.

I truly enjoyed making this Bucilla Stocking Kit for my friends new granddaughter. I did do a lot of customizing on it by changing embroidery floss colors and using seed beads that matched the sequins. In addition, I faced the hang tab with matching felt and added embroidery, sequins and seed beads that coordinate with the stocking design. I also fully lined the inside with coordinating lavender cotton fabric. The detailing on this stocking is breath taking. I would buy this kit to make again.

This kit makes an absolutely beautiful Christmas stocking. Everything is included and the instructions are detailed and easy to follow. It takes time and patience to achieve a good result but the effort invested will be well worth it!I would recommend advance preparation: read the instructions carefully, annotate the design provided and wind the coloured threads (floss) onto separate cards. Make sure you have a good light source, a magnifying glass and extra needles as the ones provided are tiny!The kit takes shape quickly and it is satisfying to complete each stage. You can probably see from the photo that I “went rogue†with some of the embroidery as the black guide lines (although helpful) need thicker thread to cover them up successfully. I lined the inside to protect the back of the embroidered panel and give the stocking a more “finished†look and made a slightly different hanging loop to the one on the original illustration. You don’t need to follow the instructions slavishly and you will probably discover your own ways to “customise†the stocking to your own liking.It took me 5 weeks to complete this kit but I am thrilled with the finished result and hope that it will give my granddaughter many years of pleasure!
