In person the colors were much brighter and a little too bright for my pre-teen. Coat overall was very nice but the Roxy of a similar price did seem to offer a few more options and seems a bit warmer. The hood of this was nicer but both would accommodate a ski helmet.

My daughter loves her Burton Elstar Jacket. The leopard print and bright colors made it easy for us to spot her on the mountain when she was skiing and super cute to wear around town. The longer length of the jacket will allow her to wear for more than one season. The pockets are big enough to hold her phone, gloves, snacks or other items that 11 year old girls carry around in their pockets. It is not too bulky or thick so easy to wear with layers if needed but warm enough for spring skiing with a long sleeve t-shirt underneath. Wish it had underarm pit zips to allow for additional cooling off. The reason for 4 stars is because the shoulders are a little tight and length is really long. We ordered a size large for my 11 year old 5' 90lb daughter.
