My 4 year old is learning to become a figure skater. New ice skaters are wobbly and will fall a lot at first. I learned after the first lesson, when she fell so much her backside hurt, that she needed padding other than just her head, knees, and elbows. Fits kids size 6-8, easy to use and work as advertised. Kids never asked what it looked like because it saved their bottoms learning to ice skate and rollerblade. Hip are still exposed if they fall sideways.

My daughter loves this pad. The pad is thick, and gives her a good protection when falling down. Besides,the belts on this pad are wide enough to make her comfortable. My 4 year old is a starter of roller skating. By using this pad , she doesn’t need to worry her hips and butt, she can fell free to skate. I recommend it to roller skating starter and even all skating kids.

Bought them to put on my 4 year old to teach her to ice skate. She's very tall and slim so the other options didn't seem like a good fit. We were able to tighten these up enough for a good fit. Good amount of padding too

Absolutely love this item. I bought this for my 7 years old daughter as she had a very bad fall once while rollerblading. It is very easy to put on and have a good coverage and very nice pattern.

The velcro for fastening the straps doesn't extend very far along, particularly around the waist, so may not fit children who are on the younger side of the age range or are slim for their age. And when you make it tighter, there's no nice way to tuck the excess straps. Otherwise seems fine.
