The whole assembly is cast and made very well. Easy to install and use. Holds my RV door open in very windy conditions. Well worth the extra cost over a regular plastic model that won't last long.

Others are shaped like a "T" and many of them don't have a slight bend in them to meet the open door just right, they just stick straight out. Some that have the bend, still don't meet the door properly and are hard to disengage. This one, made from Aluminum doesn't need a specific angle between door and latch, it centers on a rounded catch and snaps (locks?) into place to hold the door open. I Like this one because it's strong, doesn't have an angle to match up and it's aluminum so it won't rust like the others. I'm still working on a one handed latch release though but with practice it will come..

Works well so far. No experience yet with holding the door open in windy conditions, but it should be better than the plastic ball catch that originally came on the trailer.

I had seen a youtube video on this before purchasing. Had it on the trailer in about 20 minutes. (Most time spent getting the backing off the double sided tape😂

Admittedly, I probably put this on the wrong way, but I had intentions. The way that I installed it is better for myself, when not looking and trying to secure the door open, and also to unsecure the door to close it. It didn’t come with directions that I can remember, but it does work either way And you can also switch the placement of the latch and peg as well. This is aluminum so it’s quite light so it doesn’t bang against your camper door, but it is also very sturdy and I have absolutely no fear that it will break. I did not want to screw into the side of the RV, so I bought some double sided mounting tape. I have had this mounted to my RV in 100° temperatures with this tape , for at least a month now. I cannot believe it has not slid around quite yet. Mounting tape isn’t always the best in such a hot climate. I think the reason it’s working is because the aluminum latch is so lightweight that when the sun hits it, there’s nothing to drag down the tape when it gets too hot. I would buy the 600 times over if I needed it. This is the best latch I have ever found for an RV door, and I have bought at least 20. It also looks nice, which is a good benefit.

Replaced my old plastic door holder with this one. The plastic holder arm kept coming apart so I had to replace it with something more substantial. The hole patterns were not the same but it seems to be very strong. I think now the issue is pulling out the screws when forgetting that the door is being held back by the door holder.
