The SaltDogg TGSUV1B 4. 4 Cubic Foot Tailgate Spreader is a simple and effective tool for residential spreading of #1 free flowing rock salt. With its compact size, hitch mount design, and auxiliary power plug adapter, the TGSUV1B makes it easy to spread with an SUV or a 1/2, 3/4, or 1 ton truck. It features a corrosion-resistant 4. 4 cubic foot poly hopper. The hitch mount is compatible with 1-1/4 in. or 2 in. Class 3 or 4 receivers, and can fold away for easy tailgate access. The gravity-fed spreader has a manual open/close gate and a 9 in. poly spinner that can cast up to 14 ft. Its 1/8 HP, 12V motor is powered via an auxiliary plug connection with a manual on/off switch.

installed this salter in November and didn't even last two months. Was salting this morning and the thing just shut off... they took away the decent speed control unit to a single switch on/off. They removed the auger to keep the salt from jamming up and it barely works being gravity fed. the wiring harness was too short to reach battery to back of truck. I never seen such a degradation in the quality of a product. Salt dog should be ashamed of themselves.

Bought product to use with my subcompact tractor. "Must buy tractor hitch system to use. " Worked great after I dialed in the spread rate flap. High quality product

Sturdy product that has a good spread pattern....when it spreads. Clogs easily unless you spread with the hopper wide open, then the coverage is too great. Not worth the $500+ you spend on this item.

Amazing product for the price. Works okay. You just have to make sure the salt or rock salt you put it in is completely dry otherwise it will clog up in the bottom and not feed properly. I used it all winter for commercial use with about 300 plus bags of salt through. It only clogged up twice because a couple bags got moisture in them. Also the wiring could be a little heavier duty but for the price I cannot complain too much.

I used this salter 2 times. In total maybe 35-45 minutes of use. The salter first of all did not like to spread the salt and second of all more importantly I went to try to use it for a third time and it did not work at all. There was power going to the motor but zero function. Would like someone to contact me because this is absolute garbage. Waste of money
