I recently upgraded my pc and was faced with a completely different video output setup. This has left me with the issue of being able to swap in a second monitor when working on videos and graphics. In addition, I wanted the ability to plug the second monitor into the old PC when needed. As with most DP /HDMI ports on monitors these connections are not designed for the constant swapping in and out. To have the ability to between pcs using this multi-display block also preserves the length of my monitor's life span. Plugged the unit in and it worked with no issues.

Office Depot wanted $36 for a DisplayPort to SVGA (only) adapter. Saved over $20 and this supports 3 different display connection types. Worked perfectly as soon as it was plugged in.

I gave this a 4 overall becuase it doesn't work as a dual monitor connector, however, it does work really well for 1 external monitor connector for your laptop

I've used a couple of these type devices, and until I purchased this one, none had actually worked. More accurately, this adapter sorta works, but has issues with image quality on every monitor using the HDMI plug. This particular adapter works great with the VGA and DVI output plugs, but has some issues on the HDMI plug. With the HDMI conversion, there is a slight "shadow" on all text and images, making it appear out of focus, and making it difficult to focus on the text/images. Anything other then a short time viewing will give you a headache. If you're going to use it with a VGA or DVI cable on the outbound side, it will work good, but not so much with HDMI.UPDATE: The company contacted me after I posted this review and offered me a replacement.....here's where it got strange. I was emailed a "code" to use on Amazon that would allow me to purchase another for 1 cent. I refused, and told the company that if they were going to replace it, then replace it. After waiting a few weeks for a new one shipped from China, the replacement arrived. I tested it on 3 different computers/video cards/monitors, and the HDMI connection is actually WORSE then the original! When a monitor is connected to the HDMI port there is an obvious double image, slightly overlapped, that makes viewing images painful, and viewing text next to impossible. While I appreciate the company trying to make it right, they obviously have a problem with the HDMI connection that they need to address/fix. I can only assume that since this one has the same issue, only worse then the original, there was no testing or QC accomplished on either item. Because of that fact, I am changing my rating to 1 star. As I mentioned previously, the VGA and DVI connections work fine, but since I purchased this item specifically to convert DP to HDMI, it's basically useless to me. I hate to say it.....but it's just another piece of junk from China.

I tried connecting this display port adapter to a pc with a display port and it worked perfectly. I connected my vga/dvi monitor to it to try both connections and both picked up just fine with options to change resolutions. I connected my Hdmi tv to it for my pc and had no issue at all. It is best not to disconnect and reconnect during use as you may lose signal and have to restart the machine, I tried this once or twice to test, but it may vary.

Llevo unos meses usandolo y la verdad es que funciona a la perfección. Nunca me dio problemas. El unico defecto que le veo es que es un tanto aparatoso, es decir bastante grande, pero merece las 5 estrellas
