I have been using Croakies neoprene eyeglass retainers for my expensive Oakley prescription sunglasses. These retainers fit on the ends of the frame, but they would constantly come loose with the least bit of tug. I hike and do a lot of photography, and I am constantly taking the sunglasses on and off when I take photos. I have almost lost the sunglasses several times when the retainer would slip off one end without my knowing it.I read a lot of reviews for retainers that would provide a more secure fit. I wanted a retainer that fit on the frame end instead of one that attached on the frame between my ear and the glasses, which have strings that hang down the side of my face. The Cablz Zipz retainers fit the bill perfectly. So far they are very secure, almost as if they had been glued on. The only con (which is why I am taking one star away) is that the Zipz look a little goofy when they are pulled all the way out because they stick straight out from your head. My wife says it may take her a while to get used to looking at them. Also, when they are extended, I was constantly fearful that the cable would catch on something while hiking in the woods. But, I felt comfortable that if this happened, I would feel the tug before the end could come loose. When you cinch them up while wearing the glasses, they look more normal and I don't think they are as vulnerable to getting caught on a limb or bush while hiking. They still stick straight out from my head, but not much. It's just one of those compromise things where I put up with a little bit of "goofy look" in order to use a product that I feel like is going to keep me from loosing my expensive sunglasses. I'm very satisfied.

Bought this to replace the previous Cablez I had that 1 of my kids swiped (I know which kid - he wears them all the time with his sunglasses!). They have both worked great. I wear them to keep my glasses from sliding off my face when I walk/run outside in the heat. Because they are my regular glasses, I put the Cablez on & take them off each time - no difficulties. I bought 14†this time not knowing what my last ones were. I think I’ll order the 12†- when the Cablez are fully cinched up, there is still a little wiggle room for my glasses to slide, which would be fine most of the time except when I am really hot & sweaty. I wore the first set for about 6 months; my kid has now worn them for another 2+ years so they are holding up well. Will purchase again.
