I needed a dome for my new 12" cake stand (also from Amazon), and I also wanted to replace my old cake holder that doesn't have a locking lid. This was the perfect solution.This carrier is lightweight, but nicely constructed. It comes with extras such as the cupcake holder and an extra set of replacement handles (a very thoughtful bonus). The double top handles are superior to the single handle style as they keep the cake from swaying when carried. The light aqua-green color is really attractive.I like that this cake carrier is BPA free. You'd think this would be the norm by now, based on common sense, but you never know unless specified.I haven't tried putting this in the dishwasher, but I wouldn't put any of the parts on the bottom rack. The plastic doesn't seem like it would survive a heated dry cycle. I'll be hand washing this.Some reviewers have said the way the handles open is a problem because they push the base up a bit when being opened. This is true. However, if gently opened, this isn't a big problem. They don't need to lay flat to get the top off. I checked Amazon and MOST of the cake carriers have this same design unless you want to pay a lot more. Some have tabs that flip up and latch, but they are not as attractive for serving, in my opinion. And the latches aren't hinged. They're just creased, a style which tends to break more readily.One reviewer said that this carrier won't hold a bundt cake. This isn't my experience. I made a beautiful chocolate bundt cake, using the traditional Nordic brand bundt cake pan, and it fit fine with room to spare. This should hold a ten inch cake without a problem.The dome top works great as a cover for my 12" cake stand as well. I can now take my cakes to go, or display them on my cake stand at home. And, of course, the cake carrier also works as a cake/cupcake storage system for use at home. It's not totally air tight, but it's much better than plastic wrap or foil!The retail price at the time of this review is $15.95. This is THE best price on Amazon for a cake carrier with the cupcake insert. And the others that come close in price have the same design, and none came with extra handles, that I could find. In my opinion, this is the best cake carrier for the money on Amazon. My rating: FIVE STARS.

This is a good cake holder and does hold 3 tier cakes. The locking mechanism can be a little hard to engage and disengage, but overall it works fine.

I needed this in a pinch so I ordered it. Loved the idea that it was multi functional but the lid will not go on the carrier for the sectional plate. Bummer. While it looks nice, it is flimsy. They even gave a new set of lock handles in case they break (which they will). I feel like Rubbermaid makes a better cake carrier.

It wasn’t quite tall enough for my liking, but it was fine otherwise. I mean, it’s a cheaper cover, but I expected it to be. It’s not flimsy though.
