I was shocked and disappointed! Sound was pingy. It is so light weight it slipped from the table each time I pushed buttons! Play back is slow! Rewind and Fast Forward ran slow! I don’t ever expect that price means a lack of quality! I’d recommend this product for children just learning how to use a recorder. Seems more like a toy rather than a serious electric for an adult! Disappointed indeed! For the first time I might add from an Amazon order!

I should have paid attention to the negative reviews. They were right: One star is way overly generous. This recorder is junk, a complete scam. Whether in play or record mode there is a loud noise that I can only describe as sounding like static on a radio with very bad reception. The noise overwhelms any voice. This cassette recorder does record and play back; it's just that one can't hear the voices. I thought by paying double the price of other recorders, I would get something of higher quality--WRONG! Instead, I just out $60.

Easy to use and good quality sound. My father is blind and I write stories, so I wanted this to record my stories for him to listen to. He is also hard of hearing (he's 94!) but had no problems understanding me at all.

The counter feature stalls and does not keep accurate count. Other than the stall with the counter, the Califone CAS1500 Cassette Player works perfect. The recorder is so so due to the counter unable to maintain count.

Prolly worth spending a bit more $ for a better quality one. The sound quality is barely acceptable. I retd it and got another of the same... also awful sound quality.

It's a challenge to get a tape recorder at all, let alone one with a power cord. My other ones ruined tapes that I've loved for years. Well worth paying more for this.
