The mounting plate did NOT fit my 1980 GL1100 starter, but the brushes could easily be removed and replaced on my existing plate. 3-stars for expensive brushes that I had to remove/install on my existing top plate. If I had just been able to buy the brushes, I would have expected $5....

This part does not fit my 83 gold wing 1100 , mine has 4 brushes on it not two ! 😔

Brushes wore very fast after a couple hours of testing and carburetor work. Small M3x.05 screws vital to the assembly were not included.
