We had a 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500 come in with a catastrophic failure come in to the shop. One of the magnets on the flywheel came loose and destroyed the stator and the pick up coil. The OEM is no longer available so aftermarket is the only way to go. Turns out that is ok, though. Caltric is a brand I have used often in the shop and have always had great experience. Much cheaper than OEM would have been in the first place and this was a drop in, plug and play replacement. Once everything was reassembled, the ATV was back to her old self... only better.

Fit perfectly. ATV started right up. But within a week, although the charging function worked, the exciter coil that provides spark failed so that it would only start with recoil starter. The $230 stator from Ricks Motor Sports that I replaced it with works great.

Works great!Fits my Polaris Sportsman 500 perfectly. Easy install with a new flywheel after the magnet on my OEM flywheel came loose, ate my stator and locked my engine. Plug and play. Highly recommended.

bought a 2000 sporty 500 ho from a guy that thought it was a 2001, he put a 2001 stator in it and could not get spark,if you look in the manual for the 2000 sporty it has a green wire coming from stator where as the 2001 does not,so new stator from caltric and ignition coil and now have spark and running.

A very heavy delicate electronic item was delivered in a bag. Stupid packaging caused damage. Do I really need to request a box or pay extra for proper packaging?
