It's been many years since I've done any stained glass work, but I do remember that I preferred using a black or silver-backed tape, since I typically used clear textured and beveled glass, so this might not be my first choice for stained glass. It does come with the two burnishing tools, which are nice. I never used a foil applicator tool, so I can't say whether it is easier than just applying the foil by hand or not. So, you may wonder why I'm reviewing this if I haven't even done a stained glass project with it. Well, I got it to make paper circuits. It works very well for that purpose. I just stick the copper foil down in the necessary pattern and then add the LEDs to it. I have some bulbs and some VERY tiny flat smd's. I just use some scotch tape to stick them down and it works just fine. If you're not sure what paper circuits are, a good example is light up cards. You can just use the coin cell batteries with the LEDS. It's fun and it's WAY cheaper to just get the supplies on your own instead of purchasing a light-up card kit. I have a couple pop-up sliceform designs that will look incredible with some lights in them

For the price, $12 at the time of this review, this is a good value set. I’m a big fan of these nylon burnishing tools, they really stick the foil down well. I’m not a huge fan of the self foiler tools, so this one seems on pair with others that I’ve seen, well made and fits the size of the foil well.The copper foil itself isn’t the highest grade. I only work with silver or black color backed foil to make it less obvious on clearer glass. This foil is copper on both sides. I tried it only on a project that had some milky glass. The adhesion is fine, but it is very thin and ripped easily in the corners rather than smooth bending. This is a good practice foil, but I would stick to the name brand thicker stuff for heavy or high quality pieces. This is great for making ornaments or little things that don’t have a lot of weight to them.

I got this copper tape kit to make stained glass and jewelry. I wanted to try the size because I normally use a quarter inch and sometimes it’s a little too wide. At least I thought it was this copper tape is good for my stained glass and my smaller stone jewelry projects. I like that it comes with everything. The copper tape application tool is decent. It takes a little getting used to, but I love the other tools to smooth out your copper tape, etc. this is a great set. The value is good too.
