From experience, we know that not all utility pedestals are created equal. This short, strong and pliable piece of hose will come in handy when we're dealing with an unusual spigot height and angle. We bought two of these, one to keep in reserve and another to use with external water filters at the RV park where we are spending the winter.Stumbled across this one from Camco because we were hooking up this between the utility pedestal spigot and the water hose that leads to the water filter installed in our motor coach.You might term it 'overkill", but this extra filter system cleaned up our water--something the already installed, good quality, human-consumption filter could not handle. We were having problems with white residue in our stainless steel sinks and building up on all our plumbing hardware. These two filters--acting as sacrifice filters--in conjunction with a drinking water filter has given us beautiful water, clean, soft, great-tasting.So this is how we installed this system:Brass flow restriction orifice right out of the spigot --> then this hose protector --> then a 4 foot length of hose, , which allowed this system to stand firmly on the cement platform at the utility pedestal --> then our motor coach's water hose, which attaches to the coach's installed water filter.

Good extension piece to use with RV drinking water hose and filter to allow line flexibility and prevent crimping of water line which would otherwise interfere with city water flow into RV.Most of the time these last a good year or more of heavy use, including in hot/sunny and cold/snowy weather. Have had a couple leak at their joints at less than one year for undetermined reasons?Easy to install and cost effective. Still buying and using them happily for over 4 years of RV travels.

I've had this on my outside spigot for two years. It looks like the day I first installed it. It allows me to fill containers more easily and neatly. I believe the spring helps to avoid the dreaded leakage where the coupling attaches to the hose by "cushioning" the force when the hose is accidentally tugged. (For the same reason I use "quick-connect fittings" so that I can just push the hose on and not have to screw and unscrew it.)
