It helps preserve your water heater’s hot water by directing cold water towards the bottom of the tank. As a result, the tank’s hot water remains at the top for maximum heating efficiency. The dip tube’s anti-siphon hole expels air to break damaging siphon action. This product is made out of water-safe, CSA certified polymer pipe. It measures 50 ½-inches (L), but can be cut to the desired length. It features a 5-inch-long nipple with a ¾-inch NPT.

My Lochinvar KMA050KD originally had a 3/8 or . 5inch diameter dip tube. I had to chisel off some minerals from the hole, but it did eventually fit snug. Threaded perfectly, even if it fails in a few years this was money well spent to get hot water and not waiting for a plumbing supply store to order the OEM dip tube.

I have a Rheem 50 gallon water heater, and the old dip tube needed to be replaced. This one came right away, and was very easy to cut down to the size that I needed.It has been two months now, and everything is working great!

Only thing I didn't like was that it had to be cut to size, which it tells you in the description. The assembly fixed my problem, and it fit just fine after cutting to size (no leaks from it either.

Bought this to replace the dip tube in my gas water heater. Easy install and came on time. You have to cut it to the size of your water heater which was easy enough to do. I hope that I don't need another one of these for a long time, but if I did this would be the one to get. I would recommend this and you can't beat the price and shipping.

Perfect replacement part for my Bradford White 40 gallon water heater model No. M440T6FBN5:Bradford White Dip Tube 229-39625-25. This item is 2" longer at the top half ( 3.5" top x 1.5" bottom ) than the stock 1.5" that protrude from the top of the heater, but the lower threaded portion that screws down into the top of the tank is the same 1.5"Just make sure you have enough distance from your cold water supply and corrugated copper pipe to the threaded fitting as I did.Go to the BW website and find your needed part number. This product will fit many models or find the Camco equivalent to fit your specifications.N.B. This is not a Hydrojet dip tube that was OE on my water heater and many other BW units. I needed to obtain a replacement quickly to get my BW WH operational. BW Hydrojet dip tubes are available. I did find my OE dip tube but they may take a couple of weeks to special order although this is working quite well so I'm not going to worry about it for now. This repair is done.

Seems ok, but slightly oversize for the cold water inlet on my water heater (force fit worked).More importantly, it had no anti-siphon valve, requiring the purchase of a second dielectric union and adapter. Annoying.
