I already had Camelbak with 50 oz capacity, but no extra room for storage. I also have a pretty big daypack with Camelbak water storage, hip belt, etc. This Arete fits between and offers the ability to carry some lunch, snacks, small first aid kit, etc. It has a pretty ingenious system for sliding the chest strap up and down to desired height on chest. The only reason I’m deducting one star is that the clip for the water hose is on the right side and can’t easily be switched to the left side where I prefer it.

I hiked several National Parks with this backpack. It is lightweight (even when full of water), comfortable to wear through all the miles, and very stylish. Even though it is a smaller backpack, there is still a lot of storage room. Perfect for full day trips.

Used this for some day hikes at Grand Teton National Park, I also used it as my carry-on bag (I also had a hard shell wheely carry on) for the same trip. For the plane it fit 2 light jackets, my 13" laptop, a Thule toiletries bag, hairbrush and a few other small items. It's so light weight. I usually take a tote bag onto the plane but this backpack worked great! I also used it hiking and had no issues with the water bladder that fits 1.5L of water. People have said you can buy the 2L bladder and fit it into this bag too.

I love the compactness of this backpack. I recently used it in a bike race and it perfectly held enough water without being cumbersome

Don’t waste your money!! The seal on the water bladder failed after 3 months of light use. Total garbage. Get something else unless you like throwing money away.Not what I would expect from a Camelback

This is great for day hikes. I can pop a snack or a sweatshirt in there. My hammock fits in it with plenty of room. Wish the bladder was a bit larger tho

Brand new and spotless. Mouth pieces are taped up in plastic. Good size for an upcoming hiking/kayaking trip. Can’t wait to use it.
