I’m a big believer in clean drinking water in the field. This camelback pouch with in line water filter has been a game changer for me! It is easy to remove from my bag, scoop up water from source, and some water tablets for extra precaution (and peace of mind), return to the pack’s water bladder pocket. Sipping water through the in filter is very reassuring. So far the has been a great system to use! Highly recommend it

Took one of these up for a 12 mile hike, it lasted the way up but needed more for the way down. With the life-straw attached we were able to get water anywhere! Totally worth it I love it

used it on backpacking hunt, drank water coming straight out of the mountain without using a steri-light, no issues.

I do a fair amount of hiking and backpacking and already had two different water reservoirs - one Osprey 1L that is for a small trail running pack and one Geiggerig 3L which I use for backpacking. Each has it’s own use but I needed this bladder to fulfill a gap I have. The Geiggerig is nice because its so large so its great for backpacking AND it has a spray feature (You can squirt water into a bowl, on your body or even as a stream in the air for someone else to drink from without putting their mouth on your tube. The Osprey is great for quick hikes or runs. What I don’t have is a water filter pump for backpacking. I end up borrowing a friend’s out on backpack trips - it takes so long to assemble and pump the water into their bottle (and then I dump into my bladder). This eliminates the need to a water pump - I can just fill up the bladder in seconds by placing it in fast-running water and then can drink directly out of the tube since the two part connected purifier and filter gets rid of the dangerous pathogens and also impurities and weird taste. The only downside to this is that I can’t just dump some water from my bladder into a cup and add drink powder - I would need to boil the water first. But for drinking straight from the bladder or for other uses (making coffee or boiling for a dehydrated meal), I am covered with this reservoir. I can live without gatorade on a hike. What I plan to do for a weekend backpacking trip is take water from my house to start with and then fill up this Camelbak reservoir with the filtration in it throughout the trip as my water runs low. What I like about this reservoir and filtration system:- The reservoir is a nice size at 2L.- The bladder fills up super easily - it has a large hole that you just need to dunk in the water. There is also is a sturdy plastic handle so you can hold onto the bladder securely / not lose it in a stream. The large hole also makes it easier to clean.- This is super easy to assemble - just snap the filters (the hollow one and carbon one which are attached together) into the bladder and snap the drink tube into the filters.- You don’t have to use the filters if you are using already purified water. Just unsnap and snap the drink tube directly into the bladder. This will extend the life of your filters.- The filters have a long life. The carbon filter to remove impurities and make it taste better will last 100 liters (filling this up 50 times) and the Lifestraw filter to protect against harmful things in the water can last 4,000 L (filling the reservoir 2000 times). At the end of its life, it will prevent you from sipping, so you don’t accidentally ingest unsafe water.- The bladder and tubing has Hydroguard anti-microbial on it to help keep it from getting slimy.- The bag and water tube both are anti-leak. The lid closes tightly on the bladder and the tube has two anti-drip features: first, there is a lever that shuts off the water (even if you suck). When the lever is open, water won’t come out unless you suck.- When purchasing this product, Lifestraw gives a year of drink water to someone in need. What I don’t like as much:- This bladder doesn’t have any insulted parts (tubes or bag). Would be nice if that were an option.- You have to suck harder to drink when the Lifestraw is attached.- There is no magnet on the tube to keep it connected to my backpack chest straps like my Osprey tubing has.- I wish this came with a 3L option - I would have ordered that instead of the 2L.Overall, this will be great to take on backpack trips. I can sit around and enjoy life while my fellow travelers are pumping away to purify their water. I also love that the filtration is removable, so I can leave house with city water and the filters disconnected and then just add them when I fill up from a natural water source. All in all, great concept to combine Camelbak bladders with LifeStraws!

Difficulty getting flow good while on a backpacking trip. Not sure I will take it again unless I can resolve issue.

This product broke within 7 months, leaking from the bottom. The bag that it was sitting in got soaked on multiple occasions which is a shame.

J’adore!
