I used this last weekend in the desert and it worked perfectly. While being able to find branches would be nice, that's not realistic in the California desert. Instead, I cut 5-foot lengths of 1/2 EMT conduit. All parts of this were plenty strong for my dutch oven and the hanging grill I made with 1/4" stainless mesh. Just be prepared for an enormous amount of soot on everything over the fire.

Used this recently on a camping trip, instead of packing a tripod with folding legs. Worked well. I chose three long green branches, whittled them to fit, and put them with the apex about 3.5 feet above a small campfire. Was able to hang a cooking pot and make stew. At the end, it all went back in the pouch, and we left the branches. I'm keeping it inside my cooking pot kit, for ease of storage. VERY lightweight and tiny. A great buy for campers who hike.

This is a great little tool for outdoors cooking or even water purification. Set up a tripod in seconds and no lashing required. The case is nicely done and keeps everything compact.

No more packing heavy cooking grill. All you need are three sturdy sticks and you’re good to go. You can hang anything from a pot to fresh game to a pan (with enough finesse)....just make sure the sticks can support your cooking utensils AND any food you will add. Water gets heavy!
