For less than half the price of a new lens this remanufactured lens is excellent. It looks brand new. It's tight, and everything functions just exactly like a new lens. What more could you ask for?

Amazing how inexpensive zoom lenses have become. I already have Canon's high-end 17-55mm lens that has an f/2.8 aperture all the way across the zoom range. This ranges from f/3.5 to f/5.6. The zoom mechanism is not as silky smooth. But it's more than good enough. I have three Canon DSLRs using the cropped sensor and I wanted a second normal (range) zoom. This fits the bill perfectly, at about one-fifth the cost. I have been pleased with the quality of the images.I have also been invariably happy with the quality of Amazon refurbished products, camera goods (as this was), tools, whatnot.

I know this is a kit lens but as a professional photographer this is my go to lens. (Gasp). With the the right lighting and setup I don’t need to be changing out the lens all the time. Perfect for my needs. I can get a few years of use of a lens before needing to replace with a new one. A real work horse.

The attached pictures to me appear to be excellent quality at close, about 4 inches for red flowers, and a foot or 18 inches. Very pleased with the image quality when shot as super fine 15MP (2009 EOS 500D). Didn't see any optical aberrations.

The product that I ordered was in better condition than I anticipated. I was very impressed with the quality of the "renewed " item but The lens application did not fit My needs.
